When he was on the Marlins why wasn't he this good?

What changed that he's like a roided barry bonds now?

Florida's park is a pitchers park.

He was pretty damn good in the cavernous Marlins park. He has upped his game a notch or two since then. He also plays at Miller Park which has taken the actual atmosphere from Coors and piped it in when the lid is closed. Almost 50 percent of the runs the Brewers have scored there have come from a home run if I only count each home run as a solo hr, which is not the case. I can't find a stat for the total runs scored off home runs but it has to be AT LEAST 75 percent of the runs. They scored 10 over the last 2 days IIRC. Every single one of them came from a hr. I realize both teams on a given day play under the same conditions but that place is becoming a joke of a launching pad. Get it up in the air and its gone.

Coomer talked about that when the Cubs were there, that the alleys are absolute killers, like 390 feet. Anybody with alley-to-alley power gets crushed there.

Not as bad as the RF alley in San Francisco, which is just so insane that now that the ex-owner died the leadership is "studying" changing it (as it "oh thank god, we can fix this bullshit) now that Bryce Harper didn't want to go play there and hit into that gap.

Maybe the best player in the majors right now....with Trout having been out with an injury.

I don't understand what Derek Sanderson Jeter did with that Marlins team. A lineup consisting of:
Dee Gordon
Marcel Ozuna
Yelich
Stanton
Realmuto.

I get the untimely demise of Jose Fernandez was unfortunate(mostly for himself),
but them damn Marlins already had a solid lineup!!

I don't know what the returns were on some of the other players but the return on Yelich was a pile of shit.

I wish this guy was a Cub, he's making half of what he's worth as well.

I think it had more to do with the money some of them were making (Stanton) or were about to be making and the fact they draw poorly at their park, even when the team was pretty good a few years ago. Love that ballpark and find it difficult to understand why the fans didn't support the team better.

Looks like he is about to sign what amounts to a 9 year deal to stay.

Yelich's $215 million, nine-year contract with the team calls for Brewers to defer $4 million each year from his $26 million annual salary from 2022-28. The deal includes a $20 million mutual option for 2029 with a $6.5 million buyout, and $2 million of the buyout would be deferred.

If the buyout is owed, the $30 million in deferred money would be paid in 12 installments of $2.5 million each July 1 from 2031-42. If the buyout is not owed, Yelich would receive the $28 million in 11 installments of $2,333,333 each July 1 from 2031-41 and a final payment of $2,333,337 on July 1, 2042.

That should be the blueprint for the morons in the NFL and NBA .

Great deal by Milwaukee, I'd love to see the Cubs do something similar with Baez.

Starting to look like an awful contract if he doesn't revert to pre contract signing stats.

At least the Dodgers didn't have to spend the big money on their former MVP before he cratered like Yelich. Would suck for the Brewers if they got burned by this contract the same way they did Prince Fielder's. (Can't remember how much was covered by insurance, if any.)

Brewers didn't get burned by Fielder, that was the Tigers.

id say Texas more so. Fielder played in every game he was with DET according to baseball reference. Fell off drastically in Texas due to injuries

That is probably correct, I just knew for sure it wasn't the Brewers.
