Hawg - this is a good thing. 8 years and no WS appearances. Many teams of his choked in the playoffs. It's not working. Counsell is a guy who can get a team from point A to B. But can't get them from point B to C - C as in Championship.

brewers leaking out info that they offered counsell $5.5 mil per year. that alone, would have made him the highest paid manager...cubs blew that out of the water, offering the richest deal ever for a manager.

the family talk was all BS. looks like counsell was convinced he couldn't take a club that won't financially compete with quality rivals any further than division champ/wild card and refused to seriously negotiate with the brew crew.

Who the fuck cares? When you're a manager you know that you're going to likely be fired on the day you're hired. This isn't some touchy feely safe space half soy mocha latte almondine baked not fried tell me how this makes you feel job. It's a man's job, and men who are real men know that when someone better with more experience comes along you better be able to prove you can do it better and Ross can't.
