Dan also doesn't understand the concept of lying. Whenever there's a press conference with some sports executive, Dan gets all bent out of shape when they don't do what they said they would. You know why, Dan? Because he's lying, and he doesn't give a fuck if you know it.

Exactly. They owe you the press conference. They don't owe you the truth.

I also find it weird when he is surprised and dismayed by lying. It is especially entertaining when he does his testify under oath thing. Oath to who? Some God he doesn't believe in or threat of perjury which almost no one goes down for.

The best part is Dan, like MANY Americans, has undoubtedly claimed a few extra dinners as business expenses, writes off his time MC'ing One Step events, and generally prepared and fudged his taxes in such a way to minimize his overall tax. Then he signed on the line that includes "under penalty of perjury, I declare...". That is an oath, with the same stakes as a sworn deposition, testimony, etc.

He's from a family of lawyers. He likes to act like he's a lawyer himself. But a lawyer should understand when he's not in a courtroom or a deposition and people are speaking colloquially rather than specifically. I share an office with my cousin who is a lawyer. One time I was talking about how many people were on the train or something and I said, "Yeah, there were a million people on the Red Line this morning." My cousin said, "I'm sure there weren't a million." That's annoying. That's bernstein.

Spot on. I don't even know if it's the family of lawyers, though. Some people are just very literal douchebags. They don't understand the concept of speaking figuratively.

Strategic misinterpretation on Bernstein's part.

What?

Yes, he actually said the guy who won the Cy Young in 2014 was a statistical outlier.
Well, he was.

Yes, he was a Cy Young winner. Kluber's stats this year are not that far off his Cy Young season stats (and he was even a positive WAR pitcher when he was 9-16 last year). I don't see how you can say that Kluber's performance was a statistical outlier.

I would say the White Sox are doing a damn fine job of making people forget about the White Sox, regardless of whatever the Cubs may do.

Yeah, but I was completely expecting an article slamming the Sox from him. Ergo my surprise it was a decent article.

@CBoers Probably more I than he. But he's on the air enough for you to judge.

Shouldn't this be "me than him"? I'm pretty sure, but I don't want to question a Duke English major.

Yes.....unless there's more to the quote. Object case.

I've often wondered that. The talk show hosts do the talking. The producers answer the phones and play the drops. They have a sales team to sell the ads. They have a promotion staff that hands out key chains and mugs at remotes. I remember hearing that Baldy McGrindy, Mitch's assistant, makes the schedule for subs, nights and the weekends.

Yeah, what does Mitch Rosen do to fill out the 8 hour day. Literally, what does he actually do?

He's also running XRT now that Norm Winer got pushed out the door, and if seeing the same Florence and the Machine song show up in the playlist five or six times a day is any indication, running it about as well as he ever ran the Score.

Haven't you ever thanked a boss that you manipulated endlessly? By thanking them, you're giving them the impression that you respect them while maintaining the ability to undermine everything they do.

Yeah. Everybody understands the kiss ass aspect of the constant thanks by all the SCORE boys.

But we're just trying to figure out what Mitch Rosen does every day.
