this was a real strenth of Monsters and Heavy Fuel. They could talk about soul music or chinese food or the stones or whatever with callers and it was ennertaining.

In a way they were real men who had done some manly stuff to some degree and had real life experience. the guys today are just lame. what is there to admire about any of them?

McDoink isn't aggressively bad, he just sounds like a producer whose mic is always allowed to be on. He's a poor man's Chris Rongey without the cozy familiarity of all those years of listening to Rongey struggle through Sox pre/post. So not the absolute worst, but much closer to worst than best.

I absolutely detest this bernstein narrative. The only reason Rongey "struggled" was because he made the choice to be argumentative with Sox fans after tough losses rather than commiserating. But it's understandable. He's a Cardinals fan.
