Great optics.

We need to employ the zero technique.

He also has more time on his hands since his show has been cut down time slot wise.

I’m guessing his wife doesn’t want him home and makes him go in .

Parkins in for Haugh this morning. All hands on deck apparently...seems like a misguided attempt to convey extra seriousness to the situation.

this was a real strenth of Monsters and Heavy Fuel. They could talk about soul music or chinese food or the stones or whatever with callers and it was ennertaining.

In a way they were real men who had done some manly stuff to some degree and had real life experience. the guys today are just lame. what is there to admire about any of them?

Hopefully they’ll revisit Penn St talk. It’s been a couple years and I don’t know if everyone remembers that child rape is bad .

Yeah, entertaining it was not. For 10 minutes they debated whether you should be able to say you "read" a book if you actually only listened to it as an audiobook.

Now more than ever we need Terry Boers to ISDN in (can't have him in the building for real) and just spend hours telling old Score stories with both of the Dans. Coming up just after 10, we'll talk about Mike North questioning Pat Riley, then at 2:15 we'll have Luke Stuckmeyer on for the complete oral history of the 83 drop.

Welll...Was consensus reached? Sounds griping. Maybe they need to find a way to calculate Physician WAR.... RAR (recoveries beyond replacement)?

I think it’s pretty clear with the pairings over the last few days that management is auditioning a new lineup.

Hopefully the net result is Mulli and Mcdoink will be out.

Also, hopefully, some sort of new blood—not retreads— will be incorporated soon.

McDoink doesn't have Jimmy deCastro around to advocate for him, he's probably out.

Mully probably has his job until he doesn't want it anymore. He's closing in on 12 years in morning drive this June, which is remarkable.

Don't tease me like that CH.

He may be the worst host ever in this city.

And that includes Pat Benkowski.

Do Steven Berger and Maya Gavin count?

McDoink isn't aggressively bad, he just sounds like a producer whose mic is always allowed to be on. He's a poor man's Chris Rongey without the cozy familiarity of all those years of listening to Rongey struggle through Sox pre/post. So not the absolute worst, but much closer to worst than best.

His forced affectations scream in-authentic to me.

Another reason why Mitch can't be trusted to pick talent.

I absolutely detest this bernstein narrative. The only reason Rongey "struggled" was because he made the choice to be argumentative with Sox fans after tough losses rather than commiserating. But it's understandable. He's a Cardinals fan.

He sounded like a PR figure for the team rather than a fan. Dave Wills felt the losses.

A fair point, but "I am a die Sox white fan," classic moment.

Right. And Wills would get salty with a fan who said something dumb, call him a "drillrod". But Wills is one of us. And like you say, it always seemed like Rongey was running interference for some dumb management decision or a fucked up effort from a shitty player.

I will admit I had an unhealthy obsession with trying to find ways to convince myself that BA was not god-awful at baseball. Most had to do with very early, very-underdeveloped defensive stats.
