How much do they pay her? Thought scrambling from low paying gig to low paying gig was Larry's thing? Still miss the RSN days where you had attractive young women reading the teleprompter or holding the mic while some random player talked about some random play, now we have two unattractive middle-aged guys reading the lefty teleprompter formerly known as Twitter, and holding the mic while the other one desperately tried to out SJW the other guy. Is this the evolution of sports talk radio, or the not so gentle downward spiral of sports talk radio? |

Four hour show with and hour or so of prep on either side, so less than $80 and hour with no benefits, can see why her family wanted her to get into the medical field like the rest of her relatives. |

For sports radio....I don't get her as a hire. She does a good job on the news sports segment, but all her takes are predictable and forced. I do find it odd that Dan was literally called a pervert by the New York post over his boobs and cheryl scott take, yet he continues to call the Bears coaching staff full of perverts. I did find him funny with the Freds of the Park....see Bernstein can be awful, but no denying talent he has. Holmes is forced as well and awful, honestly would just have the Bernstein show. |

Her voice doesn't irritate me so much as her tone. She always sounds like she's talking out the corner of her mouth like she's saying something more clever than she really is or is funny -- and she is rarely funny. I have three main problems with her: 1. She tries to "sell takes" on the air by pretending she invented idas that are obvious to just about everybody. IE: "I still say <INSERT COMMON KNOWLEDGE HERE>", "I've been trying to tell people for a while <NOTHING ANYBODY DENIES OR IGNORES>". Which leads me to... 2. When it comes to knowledge about sports -- especially for somebody being paid to proffer opinions about sports -- she comes off as a person who ---- well --- a person who reads a lot of articles about sports. She seems to have no sources, no insights, no leads on hot stories or unique perspective on anything.. 3. She interrupts the other hosts. First, Leila, feel free to interrupt Holmes any time you want. No loss there. But despite my many areas of disagreement with Dan Bernstein on almost everything NOT related to sports, occasionally, he DOES have an original thought about sports and she has a nasty tendency to cut him off and waste time with ....nothingness. Aside from that, I'm sure she's a nice person IRL. Also TBH, I do not think the three-person format works for this crew....at all. I wonder if Bernstein is getting bored and feels like having 3 people in the booth at times gives him more opportunities to check out. He does appear disinterested more and more on the video livestream. |
