The point wasn't that BLM actually does have a leader, but that the violent rhetoric spewed by people carrying the BLM moniker shouldn't be excused or ignored just because there isn't a corporate flow chart.

All the players/teams kneeling during the anthem this weekend were pretty much a direct response to Trump's comments in Alabama, no?

He did it for show. No doubt about that. He had a big smile on his face as he organized it. Jerry is a racist that probably voted for Trump and loves Trump.

Still, he did it. So the report of him firing everybody for doing so is false.

Right, but so what Jones kneeled with his players before the anthem, after the anthem, or whenever? Is it only an act of protest if done during the anthem? If so, then the act seems more closely tied to showing some lower level of respect to the song and the flags displayed while it is played than MANY have argued the protests actually are.

Seems like he's trying to have it both ways is all. Wants to be united with the players/teams that knelt or didn't show during the anthem, but didn't want the backlash associated with kneeling during the anthem.

I will say all of this respect the flag stuff is asinine grandstanding.

Jones said on Dallas sports radio that he doesn't agree with the timing of the protests, he would prefer the anthem and such be left alone. However the story that he told every player in the locker room that they are "actors playing patriotic super heroes who WILL stand for the anthem" is total bullshit.

I'm guessing Goff began reading the latter story.
