I'm with you that Pax deserves as much blame as anyone, but as vegan pointed out elsewhere, Gar's fingerprints are all over the McDermott and Hoiberg debacles. That Pax either co-signed these moves or couldn't be arsed to stop them means he's gotta get called out too though. |

also two other observations: 1) yeah i know he can be a super-biased pudwhack sometimes, but i generally find joe cowley to be an entertaining dude. i couldn't help but crack up when he talked about the bulls calling nikola mirotic back into their offices after practice and suggested "maybe they're going to kill him?" as a possible reason why!  2) going into the last break b4 the top of the hour dan promised to "tell us what any reasonable bulls fan should expect from [whatever]" --- man, i just FUCKING LOVE IT when dan ascends atop the soap box / bully pulpit to tell us all what we gotta do to be a real/reasonable/"one-of-the-good-ones" fan of [anything other than weird muttish mixtures of discount wine, you know, the gilded version of "two buck chuck" =] |

also, i'm getting a vibe of "the bulls wanna keep jimmy around to 'rebulid on the fly' [read: reload > rebuild]" so they can keep asses in seats and still be decent enough to MAXIMIZE. THEIR. REVENUE. STREAMS. over the next few years, as opposed to going for a couple'a potential-lottery picks and not knowing if you end up with karl-anthony towns or you end up with some kind of "your 2014-15 philadelphia 76ers" type picks. that's understandable, but if the jimmy hate is that "he fancies himself batman when he's really robin" [you know, what i thought about derrick rose back when he had multiple knees] then it's like... what's he supposed to do? yeah, i doubt jimmy will ever be THE guy on a championship/contender team, but still, if there's a slight (implied or otherwise) that he's perhaps "getting to be too big for his britches" and fancies himself a #1 guy / NBA-superduperstar (aka top 5-10 player) when he's clearly not.... well it's like martellus bennett wanting more-than-gronk money: what's the guy supposed to do/say? go out there and be like "yeah hey you know i'm pretty damn good on my day, but i'm never gonna be what dwyane was 5-10 years ago so PLZ HALP GARPAX!!!" ??? i mean, is he supposed to act like the #1 sidekick in the league or something? i can't fault a guy [especially a guy creeping on the come up the way he did in the early-10s] for "feeling himself like he's masturbating" in terms of aspiring to be something great[er than he realistically will be]-- you just gotta reserve the umbrage for the org, because if it has been said that "organizations win championships" then they can sure as hell not-win championships too, right? |
