I think people have pointed out a hundred times over on what makes Goff racist. I have no problem with race related jokes. Goff is funny? Maybe bad delivery.

Moving past race, I also think Goff is a chronic liar.

1. I think he eats leftovers. Leftovers came up in discussion and he just felt the need to say he doesn't eat leftovers.

2. He once claimed he knows gang members. I don't believe that. Gang members came up in a conversation and he felt the need to say that.

3. Yesterday he said he's been to many a Puerto Rican house parties in his day. Don't believe that either. The Puerto Rican baseball team came up and that popped into his mind to say.

Granted, these are lies that don't really hurt anybody. I just think his mind is always racing. And he always wants to say stuff. Always has a comment for everything. Stuff that he believes makes him more interesting. Maybe that's it. I don't know. Goff is a weird dude.

He read a column today comparing the NHL and NBA (how one caters to the fans while the other is stuck in "tradition"), and it was only a matter of time before Jason pontificated that potential fans reject hockey because the players "don't look like America" and at the same time many hockey fans are drawn to hockey because the players "don't look like America."

Or if America was so racist they would watch the NHL and leave the NBA in its dust. Anyway, with this article Dan made the good point of the factions in NHL fandom. Even if you thought you had to fix it there is no clear consensus as to what the problems are. In the end they took the easy way and assumed that people want more scoring. I know of no hockey fans that say it. Sure some like a 4-2 or 5-3 as opposed to a 1-0 or 2-1 but aside from a couple times a season no one wants 9-7, 7-5 or 6-1 on a regular basis.

Forgot to add Goff had one good take on the NHL and I think many fans agree. If the NHL is going to be this as it is today just be that. Don't pretend you want to be some big giant sensation that the NBA is and don't change yourself to cater. He is right but where he is wrong in my opinion it is casual sports fans and media calling for this giant NHL change and growth. It is not the hardcore fans and teams calling for it.

If someone had said there are too many black people in the NBA, and it's holding back its popularity it would have been the topic of his show for a week. Goff says the NHL is not popular because it's too white, after reading an article that PK Subban is the most exciting player in the league and criticizing the NHL for not marketing itself properly. It's just such a backwards thought.

Goff had made a statement like 2 weeks ago on how he was being called out about bringing up race all the time. He denied doing that. Every day he is on the air, there are AT LEAST 3 topics he brings race up in FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER.

There's no denying Goff brings up race in situations that aren't in any need of it. Multiple times, every show. I'm an old white guy so I know my view isn't welcome but too bad. It's the truth.
