It's probably true that his lack of personality was a perfect foil for Harry whereas Kasper is basically Stone w/o the knowledge though. Steve Dahl used to make fun of his tips for "all you young ballplayers out there." |

Stone is and was a pretty decent baseball mind but dude that whole naked in a baseball glove pretty much ruined everything ya know? |

Steve Stone will always be great to me. His baseball knowledge as an annoucer was a great insight. I saw him on the Sox telecast a few nights ago and just because of him I will tune into more Sox games. That 2004 Cubs team were a bunch of guys who couldn't cut it. They were a home run or nothing club and those clubs usually don't win. What a bunch of sissy's blaming a sports announcer for telling the truth. I didnt know Hub was out w/ the Bears. I remember he being a dick to callers on his show in the 80s if they had one legitimate criticism about the Bears. He and Coppock are 2 reasons the Score was so popular when it was born. |

Stone could always bank on rubbing his nose at the cubs after he left because they were still hapless and full of trainwreck material. So many occasions Stone would say something like "....well unlike on the other side of town...chuckle chuckle" Too smart for his own good sometimes. |
