I have yet to hear it but I'm guessing Jason asked some terrible "since you're black and play baseball you must have thoughts" type of questions.

Goff has a poor handle on the lauguage. He said some shit like "people don't speak up on things like 'I don't get in that lane and get down like that'."

He's not cool, or down, and he doesn't have an ear to the street. He just uses vague phrases like that because he is unable to speak in nuanced terms let alone think in a nuanced fashion

I'm not sure if that was supppsed to be a joke at my expense or what

It's what Goff said and the fact that it doesn't make much sense is my point

Carry on fuckstick

Did not hear it, but you nailed it. He is in the media. Why is he going after other media members for not going after Bulls management. You have a platform Jason. If you want to go further develop sources and write something about the situation. It's pathetic to say the media did not do their jobs when you tout yourself as a basketball expert. Do your job to quote Thibs.

Jason sure has a chip on his shoulder about WMVP. He did an entire segment about who he could "throw hands" with there. Rage over their failed GarPax coverage I guess.

I hope he doesn't want to "throw hands" with the ratings at WMVP 'cuz he'd get his ass whopped.

I don't think playing in the NFL gives you a lifetime pass of being known as a badass. I'm pretty sure there's a ton of older ex players who are debilitated enough that most guys here could beat the shit out of them if they wanted to

Well, hypothetically, yes, I'd take Jason Goff over, um, some guy on his deathbed, but I'm pretty sure Waddle and Jurkovic have enough left to drop a coach potato without trying too hard. An elderly Doug wrecked Senor's shit once.

I shook Jurko's hand at Three Floyd's. That dude has huge hands and a strong handshake. I wouldn't want any part of that. Goff wouldn't either, if he was being honest.

there's a lot of talent ? care to point out who, other than Butler ?

Rondo and Lopez. Wade was ok this year but hopefully you replace him with a better, younger option in free agency. Portis and Valentine could be decent. Guys like Felicio and Zipser are fine as bench rotation guys. I'm sure you'll laugh at this because they aren't the Warriors but I think with Rondo as a starter their sample size is big enough that it's clear they are a pretty decent team.

You think taking a 2-0 lead against the Celtics and outscoring them by 18 was a fluke?

OK, c'mon....Rondo and Lopez ? I do like Lopez and think he's a solid piece, but I wouldn't cite him as evidence of having talent. When you're qualifying your statements with "could be decent" and "bench rotation guys", that's not exactly high praise.

And yes I do think the 2-0 lead was a fluke...as evidenced by the fact Boston came back to take 4 straight and is currently up 2-0 on the Wizards. Yes i'm aware of the impact Rondo had, but I still think had he played the entire series Boston would still have come back

The guy can take a hit.

I know Jason likes to portray himself as some kind of generation next but Jurko isn't that much older than him. He would run though Jason like Godzilla in Tokyo. Jurko plays the part of a good natured guy but I bet there is a very scary dark side if you anger him.

I don't know that I'd ever want to breathe wrong on an ex NFL player. Buffone had it right, they generally have a neanderthal gene that's fairly apparent if you're around them. Funny thing is that Jordan has it in spades, but we all know he's a slap/scratch fighter, so... .

We took our queues from the host who did a segment on who he could "throw hands with" at an opposing radio station. If not for Mike North or Julie it would be hands down the most embarrassing segment in the history of the Score. Larry talked about his Hulk like fighting abilities. You DO NOT want to make him mad.

Post subject:  Re: 5/3: It's the Media!

Cant stand Goff and his nonsense of talking about throwing hands, etc. He's never thrown hands with anyone -

I maybe listen to an hour of Mully and Hannley nowdays - the rest of the Score lineup is unlistenable - Meatpants and the kid from KC blow, and then the big mouth Goff show is terrible radio - I used to look forward to Bernstein every afternoon - now I rarely listen - unless I hear Goff has the day off -

Realistically, they have one open spot and an overall lack of athleticism. Mirotic could end up starting, but that's not really a solution. Wade would probably be best served in a more limited role, 25-30 minutes max, but he really shouldn't be more than a 4th best player on a roster going forward, if that. Right now, he may be their 2nd best player still depending on Lopez/Rondo.

F ????????????
F Dwayne Wade
C Robin Lopez
G Jimmy Butler
G Rajon Rondo

The bench is thin and I'm not sure what upside John Paxson sees with this group of young talent. Portis showed some ability, and Valentin can't be given up on, but what is the actual upside of any of these players? Are they future starters? Right now, we don't know if any of these players can be dependable role players, much less anything more than that.

Valentin
Portis
Payne
Felicio
Zipser

Without adding 1-2 players who are legitimate starters and are all-star caliber, this team is not going to be more than average.

Mac actually brought it up when asked who the toughest Score host was:
Quote:
johnnyfontane asks who is "the toughest" Score host. Not sure what that means. Toughest as in ability to fight? Wow. Never thought I'd get asked that. I'll play along. If that what you mean is who's the guy you want on your side in an alley, the answer is me. Of the guys on the airstaff who didn't play in the NFL, I see myself as the most capable street fighter. I'd anticipate Goff would be the toughest opponent. He's younger... probably stronger... a little bigger. What I don't know -- and don't really want to -- is what he possesses in terms of what Jurko calls "willingness to engage." It is that characteristic that means as much as anything in a fight. I'm nearing 50 and have had spinal fusion surgery so I'd like to think my fistic career is in the rear view mirror. If pushed to the brink, however, I believe in my skills and ability to flip the switch to the dark side.

I guess we just disagree. I think the Bulls would've won in 5 if Rondo stayed healthy. They had Boston figured out and Boston had no answer. When you're starting NBDL guys at point in a playoff series it's petty tough to win.
