Dan started this way yesterday with Jason and is now continuing it today. Now the Cubs are paying attention to their newspaper clippings, paying attention to their fans. Now the emotional side of things is happening with the Cubs...Dan even said today that essentially, these guys are not robots. Then on top of that Barry has the gall to have a Terry voicemail moment where he relates a story from spring training where a guy in the know said the Cubs would "keep their powder dry this season". He wondered aloud if Theo didn't have as high of expectations for this team. This went on for 20 plus minutes. The Cubs apology tour continues today. |

He did it again! The Cubs were "prescient" and knew that they should not "go all in" this season. Riiiiiiiight. Never mind the financial investments.... The Bernstein compares hitting in the MLB with his son's 12 year-old league. Apparently, this league "outsourced" a pitching coach who told the kids how to blah, blah, blah.... |

here is Dan summing up what he is trying to say, said today to Mark Gonzalez: "Has this micro analysis of what the Cubs are and aren't had any effect on them?" This from the same guy that ran people off the phone suggesting that the Cubs would be nervous due to fan pressure and endless writing last year on the team. This might be his ultimate WYC. |
