After the propers, Dan teased the topic of the first segment of the show: Discussion of the NBA Board of Governors' decision to limit timeouts in the last 2 minutes of a game.

P.T.F.B.

There's an episode of 30 Rock where Jack Donaghy is intentionally making bad shows to tank NBC and force a sale to a buddy of his. Dan might be doing the radio equivalent of that.

This is a game-changer. This changes the entire calculus. In fact, it could change multiple calculi.

I do have to wonder about the extent to which this reduces strategy and prevents coaches like Popovich from doing their damn jobs to win damn games (except on the nights when Popovich's job is not to win damn games) and how much of this is racially motivated. You think Mike Brown doesn't "do enough" with his timeouts? Say what you really mean. And do you want fewer commercial breaks because they're annoying or because you want to take money out of Jerry Reinsdorf's pocket? The train is never late.
