He was terrific when he piped in and needled at Bernsie as a third wheel on B&B. Now he just babbles about his kid, the NBA and social issues. They're talking about Hack Wilson and for no reason he throws in the Cobb racist stuff. He can't get through a single segment without a black or white comment, and Bernsie has largely ceded the controls to Goff. It's not fun. It's not entertaining.

No disrespect to either Goff or bernstein here because I don't want to be a hypocrite. We all have opinions on these things and we're all entitled to them. Some of of us have dumb fuckin' opinions. Just check out the AmeriKKKa thread. But we're not passing ourselves off as experts or talking down to listeners/callers. We don't even really talk down to Chas. Nobody wants to tune in to two guys who are barely expert on the sports they get paid to discuss to hear their often dumb fuckin' opinions on current events and politics. bernstein isn't dumb but he gets way beyond his depth. And Jason just isn't an educated guy. He should stick with being the affable sports fan who jabs bernstein when he gets too pompous. That's a listenable show.

I would have no issue with them doing a special show or multiple segments if it advanced the discussion and offered multiple viewpoints on various issues. The vast majority of what I heard today on WGN, and Im assuming on 670, is just more regurgitated, overly simplistic bullshit that wants to make sweeping generalizations about the health of the country when less than 1000 people got angry about the taking down of a piece of history, flawed or not. This entire thing was about a statue that nobody gave a shit about ten years ago when rabid social justice was confined to liberal arts colleges.

I really dont pay attention to shit like this but did we all have a collective freakout about the future of the country when black nationalists called for the killing of police and then it happened, multiple times? This shit happens in every country. We just seem to have a particular talent to make a mountain out of a molehill with every single issue.

And I dont know how this has been co-opted by BLM. These white nationalist simpletons live and on antisemitism more than anything else. This was mostly white people being countered by mostly white people, and then a white guy drive into a crowd killing a white woman.

When I was there, University east or west of the engineering quad was a wasteland. Save for that banging Mexican restaurant with awesome queso blanco.

I can't believe how 75% of the old apartments and dorms have been torn down and replaced with fancy-looking ones. Of course, my wife's old dorm (PAR and FAR) remain....the house I lived in, the Evans Scholar House, has been replaced. These kids have a really nice one.

My question is...if Mitch told them that ratings are slipping and sponsors are getting nervous, and they need to "stick to sports", would anyone take a stand to continue talking politics? My guess is no - especially Danny. No way he would risk his comfy, well paying job. He'd be talking about Bears pre-season games faster than your head can spin. Larry would too. Goff? I could see him actually taking a stand and risking his job. I doubt it, but he'd be the one who would.
