The NBA wants the kids to be able to go straight to the G-league. Which I think is allowed at this point.

The NCAA has no way of stopping players from going to the G League.

Not after this investigation they don't. Think about the prime time games, the "tradition" sold by the coaches, the big man on campus pussy, tutors doing the bulk of your homework, aaaaaannnnddddd $100,000 or more payment? MANY went for those reasons I'm sure.

They can also go to the NBA developmental league like we are discussing.

What are you talking about?

College basketball is still the correct choice for 99% of all college freshman. If the NBA wants to pay the 1% enough to play in a terrible league that no one cares about then good for them.

I don't understand because you aren't making sense. The NCAA can't force any kid to play basketball. The NBA has decided they don't want them and they don't want to pay what it takes to make it worth it for them to play in a bad league no one follows.

Agreed, college basketball was fine before the one and done rule.

Post subject:  Re: 9/27 - Louisville talk

The one and done rule doesn't really provide much value anyways to college basketball. The number of incredibly high impact one and done players is pretty low. Even a guy like Lonzo Ball didn't really dominate the game and the #1 pick was on a team that didn't make the NCAA tournament.

It's not force Brick. It's more like coerce.

If the FBI really goes balls deep with this investigation who will be paying the good to great high school prospects to come to their school anymore?

I'm just saying, it would be interesting to see if any top prospects take the plunge. A minor league system would be more efficient, and could potentially produce a better product.

There are many reasons that players play college basketball. Some players return for their sophomore year rather than going to the NBA.

No one is being coerced. College basketball is just the best option even without the illegal payments.

It depends how much money the NBA is willing to lose on it. There just isn't value in minor league professional basketball. College works because of specific reasons that the NBA can't recreate.

This is why their show fucking sucks and the ratings suck. There is a Bears game tomorrow for crying out loud.

IF the investigation is seriously continued then I guess we will see just how important $$$ and professional coaching is compared to the college experience. It would be a fun social experiment to witness in my lifetime.

Playing Ric Flair promos, Goff laughing, and Bernstein hating it. What a train wreck.
