Speigel and Parkins laughing at and audibly rolling their eyes at Bernstein's attempt to suck any excitement out of the Bears game.

does anyone else think it's a possibility the Cubs do better numbers than the Bears? Bernsie seems to think this is impossible...

No Goff today.

He must be at Target returning all of his Dove products.

Dan is concerned that the Cubs potential loss tonight may bleed over into TruBiscuit's night.

This is patently false and rather funny, in a "I couldn't think of anything else to say today" kind of way.

If playoff baseball can't beat the go-nowhere shitshow known as the Chicago Bears, shut sports down, no one gets it.

That's odd for Bernstein. I would think the prize draft pick QB making his first start would rate pretty high on the "closer to a championship" meter

Do you just say things to sound edgy? There is no way this is a "go-nowhere" game today for the Bears. It's the start of an era that hopefully puts us on pace with better franchises like the Indianapolis Colts.

They are going nowhere this year though.

That's a stupid analogy. The Chicago Cubs are not exactly some under-the-radar phenomenon for discriminating sports fans. They're really popular too! They should be able to pull big numbers for an important game in their defense of a world championship and pursuit of another. The Bears are probably going to finish 4-12, fuck them. No one thought Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was anyone's savior when the Bears hilariously traded up to draft a guy from a crappy football school. I don't know what changed.

nothing has changed. I give the Cubs an even shot to outdraw the Bears tonight.

I wasnt attempting the Cub-Eno comparison.

Jus the ol' what's popular =/= what's good.

Bears can draw from all of Chicago. Cubs are an instant no to 35-40% of baseball fans in Chicago.

You say some weird stuff.

Of course the (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky love was ramped up to 11 after his pre season performance. Might be silly but its indisputable that the excitement about him got huge after that.

They probably aren't a playoff team but this game is still incredibly exciting for anyone who is a Bears fan.

Many Sox and Hawks fans don't give a crap about the Cubs. There are also people that love the Bears and literally no other sport. I am not sure what anyone gets from the discussion but it is not preposterous to say the Bears may outdraw the Cubs for viewers.

I hope he shits all over himself on national television and everyone goes, "oh, maybe getting excited about an overdrafted Tar Heel who beat up on virtual civilians wasn't a bright idea."

The Bears are going to have a higher rating because its at night when households can actually watch instead of during the day when people are fucking working.

If/when (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky sucks, the Stockholm Syndrome Bears fans will just celebrate losing games for the sake of losing games to improve their draft position and put their faith in the process. Just like the Bulls fans are already doing.

Exactly.

Not sure why that's a big shock to people.

Pssst. The ACC includes both FSU and Clemson.

And these two important Chicago sports events on the horizon Dan opens his show telling us how bad Columbus was.

Afraid of putting them up against the Bears.

Great question. Playoff game > regular season game

Maybe the city requested they not both have a game at night? Or maybe MLB is chickenshit and knows that the NFL would win the ratings and they didn't want to read another article about it.

I mean put the Cubs game on at like 11pm. Tape delay if needed.
