Is this a trick question? Did Goff throw out his back again?

Vin Scully?

I'll wager $100 that Dan tells his story of meeting him while in college, and how much respect he had for him for taking the time to speak with him when he didn't have to. And now he'll tell us how disappointed he is in him.

Is Dan giddy that the people killed were in a church and thus they can't say "have a blessed day" anymore?

Transition driven by Goff and his "Mundane-Ass Quarterbacking" thoughts in the NFL...

C'mon. This answer is always Jason Goff for every transition.

Lovie Smith would have used his first two in 2nd grade when it didn't matter and then he would have lost the third on a bad confession challenge.

If you have to keep saying, "it's not about that." It's probably "about that." Maybe, just maybe, you guys are wrong?

Look how Goff twists all of this shit. Now he's using his half Irish, half black nephew, who's a soldier, as a shield to a texter. Goff is sick. Literally.

They just can’t handle the fact thay many people perceive the anthem protests as a slight against military service. It’s a flat difference of opinion where there is no right or wrong. Just like it’s perfectly ok for folks to exercise free speech to protest the anthem. It’s equally ok for others to feel offended by those protests. It’s all free speech.

I can’t believe folks on both sides are so worked up about it.

A very angry guy called Hanley and Haugh this morning saying that this is not a case of "Everyone has their own opinion..." and anyone who disagreed with him (he felt the players should be able to protest and anyone who has a problem with it was wrong, racist, etc.) about this issue was ignorant.

He then insisted that people who disagree with him frequently make blanket statements.

The only people who really have a direct interest in shutting down the protests are the owners. It’s a weird situation because employers do have some control of employee speech. But they need to tread carefully because as B&G point out frequently, the player’s cause really is about social justice.

Personally I think they chose a bad way to protest. Sure it raised awareness, but brought out a lot of negative feelings in what is already a polarized environment. As a free speech advocate, I am ok with folks standing up for something they believe. But if you want to win the day, you have to carry public opinion.

I’m going to keep watching the NFL. I am more concerned with all the injuries to players. And as for social justice- I can only hope we figure that out.

I’m just amazed that Scully was able to keep his racism in check throughout a 60 year career that saw him literally be at the front of the color barrier being broken. But yeah, Jason Goff is probably right .

Both sides are talking past one another, as usual. The protests are for social justice, not against the flag or country. The fans upset by the protests feel the venue is inappropriate given social norms during the anthem, not some racist attack on minorities.

Live and let live.

It really is a unique situation because it's technically a workplace. Unless there is state action to prevent these guys from kneeling, I'm not sure it's really a free speech issue. That said, I want them to be able to continue to kneel if they choose to do so because the NFL is a place where a lot of awareness can be brought to just causes.

I wouldn't really say that either the people who are protesting or the ones who think they are doing it inappropriately are the problem. They both have valid points that they believe in, and I support their right to voice those opinions. The problem is when people like Goff (allegedly) accuse people like Vin Scully of being racist. I'm waiting for Beardown's confirmation that he really said that, but if he did, he really needs to step back and self-reflect. Screaming "racism" at everyone who you disagree with is detrimental to everyone's cause. Unfortunately, it continues to become more common.

You know Goff. He never actually says "He's a racist". You know how he does it. They played Vin's thoughts on kneeling and Vin saying he'll never watch an NFL game again. Then Goff takes it from there and does his Goff thing. Hinting that Vin hates black people without actually saying it. Like he always does. Then Bernstein did an impression of Vin where he portrayed Vin as hating Jackie Robinson and Jewish people.
