First time posting in a month or so(turned off) and saw the news and listened to Mulley/Hanley this morning at 8 for the new program line up.

My thoughts.
Like Mike North was the key figure head, then then Bernstein era, it is now the Danny Parkins era. His promotion to lead Afternoons with Mac should lead to some good sports radio. He can be a little smug and condescending at times, but no doubt about his talent.

Big time demotion for Dan B to not only go to middays, but to be teamed up with McNight. That said no nothing about Mcnight and will give him a fair run. Bernstein is talented, but the grandstanding, extreme politics turns off too many people, thus a change was made.

Not one mention of Goff and Spiegs this morning was the biggest. No thank them, etc. Like all businesses, radio is a cut throat business and once you are gone you are a ghost. I know they still set for weekends and fill in, but boy the silence was something. Also everyone there except Lawrence who will stay 6-10.

That said, time to listen again and give it a try.

Bernstein show will stay virtually the same. They did not hire someone who will challenge him.

Yup!

McKnight is just a female version of Goff. The race rants won't be as frequent but there will be more women equality rants.

 you mean women’s equality rants on a show and station that just had a chance to actually hire a woman for but didn’t ?

I'm streaming the broadcast rest of this week so I can draw my own conclusions. I'll know by Friday whether or not this will be worth
tuning in for long term.

This was a missed opportunity to hire Herron

Cross-talk with the morning show. This hasn't been done in a long while, no?

Indeed, Berns mentioned that he was excited for the transition between morning and midday which hadn't been done in forever.

Bernstein already tip toeing...

“I’m not saying my way is better...” regarding rooting for one’s alma mater. That caveat would not have been added a week ago.

If this doesn't work out, don't you think they would go in that direction?

Dan putting Connor over ... obligatory, but nice.

Can we just all take a moment to share Bernstein's dread at having to say "Middays, on The Score" just now? He had to pause before saying it, and I have got to believe it hurts real, real bad.

Hard to listen, honestly, and not because I don't like what's being discussed or because of Connor or something. It's mostly that I can hear the discomfort, if that makes sense.

And it's good, because I think a lot of Score listeners were saying "well, I like Chris Rongey, but his problem is that he's too humble and down-to-earth."

I remember thinking McKnight was ok and seemed resistant to being a total Bernstein clone.

I listened to maybe 3 segments with him like 5 years ago though.

Ill never hear him now either, so I guess it doesn't matter.
