Back when they tried to have fun. It's no wonder we tuned in when that was the objective

I've never listened in the Terry and Bernstein era because one, I could not due to no streaming at the time, and two, those were my 2 hated radio people on the score for years since the early days. Terry was fine on HFC w/ Dan, but after that, never liked the guy and of course Bernstein is a major ahole.

If you want to talk about the good times, talk about early score with North / Jiggs and the HFC. Even Tommy Williams was fun because sports radio was a new thing back then. And of course Murph on WLS was great in the early days.

They were very good until they got caught up in the Penn St. stuff

Search for score hello + name that tune .... I think it's 10 minutes or so, and it's great ... plus a few callers at the beginning show another reason the show was what it was, which was smart-ass camp every day.

Frank above is more or less right, but it also started to go downhill when they weren't a mom and pop station anymore, then Dan's failed run as Dan Patrick for a week, then when he got in trouble with Spiegs for commenting on Twitter about some newslady's titties or whatever. Penn State was, however, the penultimate straw, with Terry's health being the true end.

Glory days of B&B.

They knew they were a niche show and accepted it.

There use to be a great caller back in the day. I forgot but he was from evergreen park I think. He was a bit goofy old man.

I need to find the caller who said knee injuries were four weeks because "knee" has four letters in it.

It's on YouTube. "Jeremy in evergreen park" the best call I've ever heard on sports radio. He called again a year later I think under the name "jockamo in Cicero." Great stuff.

Edit: never mind you're talking about someone else, but yes that guy is on YouTube. Abbatacola called him the dumbest caller in the history of the score.

Just listened to this for the first time. What a ahole Bernstein has always been. Name me 10 guys right now. Is this some kind of trial? It's fucking sports radio. He treats it like the caller's life depends on it. These two were the biggest assholes on the score at one time.

I know it's there but it's probably got some entirely uninformative title.

TB Diddler's ads.

Larry Horse.

Caller Anne.

Second Hand News.

Hell, even some of the Trestman stuff. That was the real last gasp of the great show B&B once were.

In the early 2000's Chicago sports were by and large a sewer aside from the fluke 2001 Bears and 2003 Cubs seasons, and Chicago radio was degenerating into the bland Eric & Kathy world it is now. B&B were an oasis of fun back then.

- The guy who said LeBron is terrible, “not even in the top 10.” Said “oh my god” every 30 seconds and told the guys he was a civil engineer

- “Kobe Bryant is a disease” old white guy on meds (clip used to be on the B+B MySpace page)

- Entire show during the huge snow storm in 2010

- Whenever they’d go out to AZ during spring training

- Bears get Cutler show, Dan: “THE BEARS GOT CUTLER! THE BEARS GOT CUTLER!”

- Cubs get Joe Madden show

- Dan solo for the last hour or two? going crazy about OBP and Dimitri Young

- Dan going over the entire basketball HOF with Terry and eliminating many dopes

- Any Friday Fung, especially Holiday disasters

- Rusty from Stickney/Florida

- Mike from Milwaukee

- Tyler Hansborough/home schooling conversation

Tyler Hansbrough "liberry" drop was great.
