So now Jordan is way better because he played better individual defense in the regular season?Nevermind the fact that you are always making fun of others for using anything but Finals games as a gauge of a player's greatness.

It's also interesting how scoring is supposedly so much easier now with the rule changes and the way the game is played, but that is only mentioned when discussing offense, not defense.

I never mentioned the regular season.

Your second paragraph doesn't work because even against his current day peers lebron is no longer a good defender.

Notice how no regular NBA poster thinks lebron is GOAT? There's a reason for that. We watch the games.

Your appeals to authority don't help your arguments and are no more effective than Julie DiCaro saying she's right because she's a lawyer. Also, I don't think a few basketball fans on a Chicago sports message board is what we would call a non-biased sample. Maybe next time we are debating gun rights, we should go poll NRA members to determine who is right.

More an observation than an appeal to authority.

Here are Jordan's stats in the finals when he was 33:

.415 .316 .836 42.0 27.3 5.3 4.2 1.7 0.2

I'll be curious to see what Lebron's are.

Meh, he's just compiling stats on a bad team..

I agree. This Finals has been a lackluster shitshow.

Era's. I have maybe 10% interest in basketball now but I can accept that LBJ is the greatest of this era by a large margin. He's also a physical freak and that has never interested me much. But having grown up with the Bull's run I simply think that was a better brand of basketball, with Jordan at the helm. Someone uploaded most of those games to YouTube and it's a joy to watch again. I dont miss anything over the modern game.

Same with the NFL or MLB. Im never going to be a fan of watered down rules and gameplay to facilitate more offense and scoring, to facilitate more interest from stupid people. Im not wired like that. Shine a laser pointer at the wall to get their attention and give me back the well rounded games we had.

Jordan is the greatest; Lebron is the best. Does that make sense? This from one who feels quite dispassionately about the subject.
