It's just true. I just got done listening to the last hour of Spiegel tonight. He at least has a personality and some life stories. With Goff, as I've said before he got fired, he can be amusing. Goff was always funny when he wasn't trying to be funny. His ignorance, stupidity and self importance was amusing. Goff being a crazy ass mother fucker was amusing. I sometimes even liked him hating "Whitey".

McNight is simply nothingness. He's polite and boring. He's not funny. DeCastro says he's young. But does he sound young to you? Not to me. If you didn't know his age you'd think he was 50+. Dan McNeil sounds younger then him cuz he's talking porn, gambling and pot. McNight frowns upon such talk because he wants to have this image of being proper.

I'm not saying Goff was good. You know that. But if you're gonna replace Goff, do better then fucking McNight.

Mac > Goff & Spiegel. So they got that right.

But either Goff or Spiegel should have been kept over McNight.

I'm admitting to the old saying of "Careful what you wish for, you just might get it."

If DeCastro was gonna do this, he needed to get a better mother fucker. He didn't do that.

Transition was crazy. Can’t believe Mac went that hard at Spiegel.

What are you talking about? I complimented him the best I could. Goff is better then McNight. There. Good enough? I'll take Goff over McCracker every day.

Well Goff was done because you aren't moving the failing drivetime show to afternoon without changing anything.

Bernstein and Spiegel? That pairing seems very weird. I don't see that working, but maybe????

I agree that McKnight is better served as a WBBM sports update guy. Maybe they would have been better served by picking from smaller markets and finding someone with Chicago roots, similar to Parkins. Parkins has passion for things, McKnight does not -- at least not one that resonates with audiences. Bernstein (for better or worse) has a passion for SJW issues now... they could use a guy who has passion for plain old Sports to team with him. If they could find a guy who loves that stuff and team him with Bernstein, then you have something that can cover baseball season, basketball season, and football season -- that's all the seasons (hockey can be sprinkled in as necessary depending how the Blackhawks are doing.)

It is really hard to say what will happen until we clear the Cubs broadcasts... they are kind of a unique thing in sports in America with so many afternoon games.

I caught a lot of it running some errands. It was decent radio. Unfortunately the station has become unlistenable from 5am to 1PM. Goff was alright until all he did was giggle and cackle all show long. The more i listen to McKnight and Haugh the more I long for any kind of personality. Either Spiegel or Goff would be a much better options for the 2 new guys they brought in for mornings or midday. They already tried Berstein and Goff so they cant go back to that and I am starting to think that Mulligan cant really work with many people. Could he possibly be on the chopping block soon? Haugh cant carry a show. He doesnt even add any value as a sidekick. I dont know how they shake things up at this point but it might be time to start rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Spiegel > McKnight

McKnight is really failing if people are longing for Goff. McKnight at least does not get me to PTFB but he doesn't do anything positive. The only place for Goff is on the evening or weekends where he can easily be ignored.

I found myself thoroughly enjoying the Spiegel/Rozner pairing as well. I thought Spiegel teamed up well with just about every person with whom he hosted. If you want to punish the guy for going too political fine, but you left Parkins and Bernstein untouched for their political statements. I think Spiegel would toe the company line going forward and I wish they'd give him his own gig in some time slot.

If I were programming director my line up would be as follows:

Morning drive : Spiegel & Holmes (they had a good thing going when Mac in rehab)
Midday: Bernstein & Rozner
Afternoon: Mac & Parkins
Nights McKnight

This is a smart, entertaining lineup.
