Likability is an important factor for an entertainer. It leads to opportunities, longevity, and sustained success. McNeil's success come from his likability not from "bad words people say about him" or contentiousness. The careers of the more likable people have trended upwards and have even brought unlikable people along for the ride. Boers/Bernstein or Mac/Harry,Speigel. The latters careers took somewhat of a nosedive once their counterparts were gone. Look at hosts that were once likeable like drinky, North, or Goff and became not likable. It's happened with almost every host. It's not true for someone like Murph but I'd say that's not the norm.

Loyalty and listenership doesn't come from people wanting disagreement or whatever is considered "thrilling" radio. People will tire of it if it's manufactured. People like the comfort, feeling included, occasionally thought provoking ideas, and humor.

I understand a lot of ESPN1000 listers will disagree.

Espn's hosts are mostly likeable. They are boring but mostly likable.

But do you like your hosts boring?

Im sure Carmen would be a good neighbor or co worker, but as a radio host, boring is pretty much the last thing you want

Well, I dont think Jurko is boring at all but I DO think Bernstein and McKnight are.

Ill take an interesting jerk over a non interesting nice guy though....as far as radio hosts go.

If Mac an Parkins want to go golfing but worried about getting to work on time, don’t go. Their job is their responsibility, not drinking it up on the course. Here’s another thought; why not go golfing an hour earlier than they planned to ensure they won’t be late for work?

Their show starts at 11 a.m. local, is it normal to finish a round of golf by like 10?

I believe they said they were to be the first ones off in the morning. They wanted the hour cushion in case so they did not have to feel pressured to hurry.

I had a mate in Jr. High that was under 3.5 feet tall. He was only gonna top out at around 4 when full grown. He went and did something like this l. Now this was back in the late 80s early 90s so I dont know what the advancements have been like since then.
Anyway he came back to school sophomore year, was probably about 5'9" but looked really weird. His torso was still kinda small but his arms and legs looked long and completely out of proportion.
Remember that dream sequence Tina had at the beginning of the first nightmare on elm street when freddy grew super long arms? Imagine that on stilts and that's kind of what he looked like.
