Bernstein and McKnight say they should extend the nets to the foul pole at every MLB ballpark, and if you feel differently then you are a moron. That's today's show. Here's Laurence Holmes.

I wonder how many drunks drive home from the ballpark and kill people annually.

That's why the Chicago Cubs encourage the use of public transportation!

It's fun to make fun of Bernstein, but he's right about this one. I've never felt that sitting behind the screen diminished my enjoyment of the game.

if anything, it'll keep idiots from leaning over and touching a ball in play.

What Julie and Dan don’t seem to grasp is that for fans farther down the lines, it would become very difficult to see because they’re not facing the nets head on but rather at more of an angle. So someone in the Bartman area might have a clear view of the outfield (looking straight through the net) but wouldn’t be able to see jack squat near the plate.

If MLB had done this in 2012, maybe "the nets are too long" would have been part of B&B's immortal Why Didn't People Go To Sox Games show.

yeh yeh yeh you "don't like to look at nets" why don't you say what you really don't like to look at

I would like to be clear that I am not against nets. It is true that somehow you adjust and then do not notice really. Someone on M&P said it would be nice if they could retract for pregame. That doesn't really matter too much though as the days of kids getting autographs at the wall are pretty much dead.

Another caller into Bernsie I think made a decent point. Haven't they come up with better technology over the years when it comes to string/netting? The guy was just guessing but he was leaning toward a fishing line type material so strong yet thin and nearly clear.

Anyway, saying people want kids to die is bad radio.

The only way to solve foul balls going into the stands is to have significantly more foul balls going into the stands.

IMO, yes the nets should extend all the way down the lines. I know others who are against it and I respect it, they are not stupid, evil, etc. for an opinion.

Does anyone listen to this show anymore? Things goes in waves whether it is politics, movements, etc. The Bernstein SJW hard left/right side of history, virtue signaling is over in sports radio.

You see it with the continued rise of Barstool, athletes chugging beers at games, hell even meryl Streep is saying enough with the PC all men are toxic bs. People just wanna have fun with sports again.

Only reason why I still care and maybe I am alone, B&B was hilarious back in the early and mid 2000s. It was great radio.

I happened to be in the car around 10:00 today and found myself agreeing/liking what Connor had to say...until I found out it was actually Rich Campbell subbing for McKnight.

I think everyone should be required to wear a white helmet and a suit of armor if they want to be allowed admission to a ballpark.

i got a chuckle out of dan being shocked the NHL let a sponsor hold a flag in the color guard for the national anthem... i tend to agree with the point... but coming from an employee who works for a station that literally sells every possible second of ad space in cubs game... it was a bit rich for DAN to be the offended one. Hell WSCr probably does sell an ad for the national anthem. I mean literally every other thing that happens in the game is followed with a sponsor for said thing

He wasn't offended by it. It was just an excuse to bring up Kaepernick, and call people racist again. The people not offended by the flag are the same ones who took issue with kneeling to "fight inequality".

Great radio.

That applies to all sporting event on the radio. 80% of a bears game on WBBM is a live read for a sponsor.

Turns out it was a guy holding a flag for Enterprise Rent-a-Car next to the American flag. That's some Mark Leyner shit.
