Random thought popped into my head.

What if a brown person said this? Would Bernstein take offense? I think he would.

Because when Bernstein says this line about brown people it really is offensive. It's like saying that seeing brown people is the equivalent to going to the zoo to see animals.

So I'm gonna be offended on behalf of brown people.

Little late for that, they moved out to Buffalo Grove and now there are lots of Koreans and Indians.

This isn't necessarily true. There are not that many South Asians in Skokie proper, far more moved to the west and northwest suburbs. There is still a significant Jewish population in Skokie, and they are the predominant ethnic group represented in terms of retailers and religious institutions (synagogues, schools, etc.) as is the case with South Asians on Devon and Koreans on Lawrence (at least retailers.) And the epicenter of Orthodox Jews never was Skokie in the last half century, it was and still is West Rogers Park.

Skokie has become a little like Chicago where you have your pockets of middle class/ upper middle class folks and pockets of poor folks.

There is a performance art aspect to being a SJW, must on the surface look to be down with the struggle, but have to be careful not to fly too close to the sun.

Pretty effective because anyone who questions your motives is quickly dismisses as a racist, fascist, etc..
