Workplaces need to be "comfortable," and the Sox had a particularly "ebullient" one that LaRussa threatens.

No smiling, Eloy.

What “changes” do you think he’ll make that will decrease their collective performances on the field ?

I think if he is smart and the Sox play well, he will get the hell out of the way.

He’s been on the wrong side of history on all the things Bernstein has been on the right side of.

Dan hates that TLR thinks he’s the “arbiter of how brown people can protest,” but Dan is comfortable with his own role of arbiter of how other people should think and behave

tbh the 60 game scheduled helped the WSox avoid some of the pitfalls of a 162 season. If you have 162 next year w/ Ricky, things would not go as well as this year. But LaRussa's been thru those pitfalls and knows how to manage a team during those dog days . That is going to be the big benefit of having LaRussa as the manager.

And that is precisely how things will play out, more than likely.

I missed the Matt Holliday interview that was supposed to take place yesterday with Parkins. Did Parkins ask him if the clubhouse was a dungeon where no fun was allowed for guys like Molina and Pujols?

maybe this is a survival technique by Bernstien. He see's SJW is the only way to stay on sports radio these days. so he's going full in to embrace it to save his career.

Baseball is a business when it fits the narrative. When the narrative is bashing a perceived "red ass" manager then it's not a business anymore, no typical workplace rules, just a bunch of guys getting paid millions expressing themselves however they want and having "fun".

That one was a beauty for the Score gymnastics team. He had Holliday on for an interview. Holliday spoke incredibly well of him as a coach. He said Tony was singularly focused on the game that day. He said Tony usually had prepared five different lineup for the day depending on situation and had considered all angles before the game had even started. He did say Tony wasn't that interested in personal stuff of the players. I thought he made Tony to sound like a baseball Belicek.

The call didn't confirm what Parkins wanted it to confirm so he dismissed it as, of course a guy like Holliday (whatever that coded phrase means) would like LaRussa.

Holliday was very good.

Not sure why Parkins even had him only only to essentially discount his perspective

Sounds like they should have made this Network guy the new manager

How ebullient did Dan think the workplace was when he spent four hours a day talking about child rape every single day?

Dan genuinely believes he is some kind of public servant on issues of race, medicine, and justice without whom none of us would be able to correctly “consume” the major events of our time.

I believe he is a text book case of delusions of grandeur, and that there is some legit brain chemistry issues inside his noggin

Let me get this straight: Dan, who didn't spend a single pre or post in the locker room this year due to covid, didn't attend a single game and spoke with few if any players first hand feels comfortable in opining about the level of joy that was present in the white sox locker room?

I saw the same thing he did. They were happy when the won. They (most notably Abreu) looked more than angry when they lost. Anything else is pure speculation.

Ive never heard the world Ebullience said or typed in my life. This is Bernstein's MO. To prove how smart and scholarly he is compared to the average man.

well hey, in fairness to the guy he's really short. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't live that magnum lifestyle so you gotta have something.

I haven't listened to Bernstein for a couple months. Wasn't a conscious decision, I just listen to other podcasts instead. Maybe with the election talk dying down I'll have time to give him a spin.

You aren’t missing much.

Not sure what your favorite sports are, but he manages to weave COVID thoughts into every discussion. Even into fantasy segments.
