Amir's Bulls thoughts were always EXACT continuances of Dan's earlier points, it was uncanny. He never provided wholly new points of view, just nudging Dan's thoughts a little bit forward. His emails/texts would also track quite closely with Dan's preferred manner of speech.

I caught 5 minutes of the new show the other day and she sounds like a bubbly 13 year old girl trying to do a show with her over the hill grumpy father Dan.

I've had a chance to listen a few times recently and it seems Dan is really trying to show off his technical knowledge. When he starts talking about dual staggered screens and other esoteric concepts that would seem to appeal only to a very small niche of listeners, it feels more like boasting how much more he knows than his new partner rather than engaging the audience.

I did get a chuckle when he casually referred to Boylan's "quote unquote offense."

Dan has been like that with basketball for as long as I've been a listener. Part of the reason he had such a bug up his ass about people getting Hawks fever in 08-09 was that it took away time he could have spent babbling about Vinny not running "triple-drop reverse-screen stagger-skip sets" or some bullshit no one cares about.

He has a tendency of doing that with football too especially if he has a pro player, coach or expert on. Instead of saying blocking or receiving tight end, they will use that Y or U tight end lingo. Or instead of saying nose guard or DT they will say three technique. And honestly, the majority of the audience is like “what”.
