Bernstein could've been as big Mike Greenberg, but he chose the safe route of the score clubhouse. Now he's doing this to pay for college for two kids rebranding himself as spokesperson for minorities when he spent the better part of a decade belittling black athletes, women and there wasn't a gay joke he wouldn't make. It reminds me of what someone said about director Kevin Smith. "He had potential to be a great filmmaker, but he spent his time making dick jokes."

He loved Terry. He didn't account for Terry turning into Joe Biden. Maybe he should have? And as far as the the goofing off and irreverence? Context. It was part of that particular time in radio. Back then it was rewarded and now it's frowned upon. Mac is home wacking it to cuckold porn and Bernstein has a job. It is what it is and radio is dying because of it.

If you watch any of the league networks you see there are tons of attractive young women working as sideline or studio hosts at regional/national networks all across the country. These jobs are usually only one or two year gigs as there are apparently tons of former Miss Mississippi's looking to make $30,000 a year to be on TV somewhere. That said, you cannot fault Rahimi for trying to find something a little more stable. Bernstein is just trying to hang on for another contract at this point and on good days maybe brings 50% of the energy he used to bring to B&B back in the day.

In many ways the end of the B&B show was really the beginning of the end for the station.

Surprise surprise, making the face of the station a guy who displays open contempt for most of the station's listeners isn't all that good for the long-term prospects of the business.

Don't forget that Terry's retirement coincided with Trump's election. You had Bernstein and Goff leading the way as identity warfare went from academic/reddit subcultural curiosity to the air we breathe and every aspect of our lives became a political battleground. They were doomed.

During transition with Mulligan and Haugh today, Mulligan mentioned liking Skip Bayless' brother's restaurant, and Bernstein either said Rick Bayless having a Mexican restaurant is cultural appropriation or wondered if it were.

Can we only prepare, eat, or sell the food of our direct ancestors? Where does someone who is not Mexican doing a commercial for tortilla chips rank on the cultural appropriation scale?

If that was Bernstein's take (which is truly awful), then it's too bad Mully didn't call him out on it.
