I think there is a chance that Petersen comes back to the Cubs in 2022. The Cubs were the only team who would give him a chance to play every day and not just in a platoon role. He's not good enough to be a 500 PA starter for a playoff team, so his best deal might be to come back to Chicago and play every day on a fourth place team.

The problem with that is that Bernstein starts saying Cease isn't valuable because of "grip help". It should have been immediately laughed at. Cease is at 1 WAR this year. He's a starter in the rotation. Pederson is at -.2 WAR. He's not as good as Brian Goodwin.

Bernstein has no ability other than repeating the latest Joe Sheehan newsletter item these days it appears.
