You think maybe Goff comes into these guests appearances at the SCORE stoned? Maybe 2 or 3 gummies? Maybe that explains the "laughing at nothing" and his wild ramblings about uninteresting things with no purpose or meaning. I hope he is. Otherwise he's batshit crazy.

Then again, he did it while employed at the SCORE, and he was sober.

I can tell the SCORE firing still hurts Goff. That's why he loves to come back to the SCORE studios for interviews.

Where are these churches?


Southside of Chicago. Pick a ward and attend a chamber of commerce meeting.


I've been in Catholic Churches on the Southside. The biggest negotiation was where to go for breakfast afterwards.


I've never seen it either. Usually, everyone is in a colossal hurry to get out of there as fast as humanly possible.

Now, this is off topic, but I have seen quite a few business discussions/shop talk at weddings.

They've had an iron grip on MANY communities. MANY of the older pastors are retiring so I'm not sure that will continue. Plus, they all had the support of the alderperson.

At it's roots, it's culture. If you're going to deny culture, be it any tribe, then you have zero historical perspective. Western civilization itself is culture.


At its roots, it's aggrieved people looking for a savior and/or retribution. It's made up mostly of men. The fact that most are white has more to do with the population of our country.

I'm not denying cultures exist. That said, I will push back on Western civilization itself being a culture, too. I think it's a collection of cultures that have similar values collaborating. Unless you are a mutt like me, the place you trace your ancestry back to is the culture you almost certainly identify with. Everything else is mostly transactional.

We have a huge gap in thinking then. I feel even dialect is culture. Sports has culture, teams have culture. Cooking has culture. I run into culture every 10 minutes.

Remember that old black guy that used to always call B&B? From Evanston. Forget his name. He was like 80 years old always calling in talking crazy shit. Goff would get in fights with this caller. He once told Goff that a young black guy like him should help out in the community. Goff wasn't having any of it saying "Why don't you do something? See, this is the problem with older brothas"

Anyway, I think Goff is becoming him.

Find the research into the potentially therapeutic treatments using deep sea bacteria to be fascinating, but that's not why I called.

Would venture to say that if you go to a well-established church, not the grab ass new one's that pop up where the pastor wears a denim shirt and rolls up his sleeves when he wants to talk to you about Jesus, but an established church you will see and hear people talking shop all the time.

Had a time as a newly married dude where I was talked into working with the board of my Father in Law's Church which is a well-known church in the Methodist system. The pastors were masters at networking and introducing the different business owners to each other, they also used the singles groups and couples groups to do the same thing, watched several contractors get gigs through this process.

If you go to the grab ass places or the places where the dude is kissing snakes this likely does not happen, but it seems we find out a bit about the posters through their naivety about certain subjects.
