Hoosiers looked good putting it to Maryland. What's up with Bruce Weber? Did he get caught in a hurricane? He looks like Billy Idol's drunk uncle.

It seems that their guards have not really developed or gotten better from last year. That is a surprise to me. I thought Painter would have them ready to roll this year. Braden Smith is great. He should be on the All Conference team for sure. He's much improved. Lance Jones was terrible yesterday but he's been great too for what his role is. Loyer hasn't improved as much as hoped but he still fills his role well.

Northwestern played lights out and it went to OT on the road. It's just how things go sometimes.

Smith is great offensively. He was really good in that game until late when turnovers were the story.

But he is not defensively.

"We gotta find guards that can be two-way players," Painter said.

All started to change after they started distancing themselves from their "Fighting Methodist's" heritage.
