I don't think it's a huge leap to think that Drinky and Goff wouldn't like these outsiders coming in. Goff gets prime time sub duties every now and then. Drinky never gets them. Maybe that's why he's more pissy than Goff when these guys work on the afternoon show.

MattAbatt is TERRIBLE on air. Talks **WAY** too fast and indistinctly, garbles everything. Total Fail. He's probably a very good producer, but he's effing godawful on air. No wonder ICB replaced him as their on-air spokesman; he makes their program sound REALLY bad.

Neither Drinky nor Goff will be hosting this week, according to 670thescore.com. Hub Arkush sits in for Holmes tomorrow 6-10P, while Ben Finfer has another 3 and a half hour show Saturday Noon-3:30P. If that's not enough, Hub, Dan Hampton & Matt Bowen have a rare Sunday show together @ Noon, followed by the team of Connor McKnight & Joe Ostrowski @ 3P leading into the "Horseshoe Casino/White Sox Radio Network Pregame" @ 6:30P before Sox/Tigers.

Dan is either 43 or 44. He went to high school with my sister in law who will be 44 in December.

I believe it has been mentioned Terry is 18 years older than Dan. That makes him 61 or 62.

I believe Rozner is probably early 50s. I remember reading him when I was in my early 20s and I'm 44 now so I assume he would have had to be at least 30 then.

The 18 years older than Dan thing is I seem to remember a few times him saying something like Dan being born the year Terry graduated from high school which people usually do at 18.

Rozner has thoughts. But they revolve around a few hot button things. They get old fast, and he becomes preachy. The best thing about Barry is that he has a lot of inside contacts at the Cubs and Blackhawks in addition to some key athlete relationships.

I see why the board tends to like him as a fill-in. I have probably been overexposed and have "grown apart" from him and his opinions.

Did you know he's hated in Vancouver , Denis?

Rozners inside Cubs contacts may be gone if they aren't now with the new ownership and also new baseball management team.

You are hardly qualified to be the arbiter of such things.

He was.

Doubt it.

He is probably saying it to make himself seem "cool", "hip", and "edgy."

Same thing when he talks about that one time at Bears Camp when he was drunk (on wine) at the Waffle House and was acting all CUH-RAAAAAZY.

When Bernsie first started doing weekend shows in the mid-1990s, many of his monologues were about or influenced by various drug experiences. He gave the impression that he was getting baked pretty frequently.

I'm sure he got high. A kid growing up in Deerfield. He wasn't an athlete. He doesn't strike me as an academic striver, but rather as a guy who does just enough to get by. Hit the bong.

Didn't Berns play Soccer? On second thought, never mind...

Actually he does some stuff with former WGN host Steve Cochran who is now on WIND.

Bragging about not prepping for a show and still usually doing an awesome show is just an extension of bragging about not studying for a test and then usually acing it. I know the type, because it was me. It's not foolproof, though. Sometimes the exam really focuses on stuff from the one day you were out sick. Sometimes your co-host is Laurence Holmes. In the long run, though, it's a good plan if you can pull it off.

This is why he will never go national. Too much work. Too much having to tow the corporate line. He's got the best time slot, makes the good coin, and gets to spend time with his kids. Hey, it's a decent life. He has created an image for himself where certain people (his devoted parrots) see him as a crusader who tells the stories no one else tells (you know that real important radio he does). I suppose that is nice to have, even if it is crafted in delusion.

The only way I see a guy like Bernsie changing would be if a new program director came in who didn't let him do his own thing. Mitch obviously doesn't give a fuck what he or Terry do.

It has been a long, long time since the show has been consistently good let alone awesome.
