Guessing Milwaukee Mike gets a nod. Think he had some foolish saying with a pretty awesome Burp that make make it?

Sack Machine

We've been pooped on and dumped on and crapped on! / I could've had cider and donuts!

Ooh. That's crucial. / That big belly.

What in the hell are you doing, Wegner?

I wouldn't be shocked if Mike from Milwaukee makes the cut. I also wouldn't be shocked if the late Joe Paterno, Franco Harris & the guy at Bears' Training Camp in Bourbonnais who said "sack machine" from Comcast SportsNet's sports trivia game show "Gas Money" all make the cut for the "Quote of the Year" show tomorrow.

"Sack Machine" is the chalk pick, but this is a great sleeper.

Yeah, it's okay, but glorifying the stupidity of Hawk Harrelson is a dicey proposition because you can never tell when it's out of love or out of spite.

That's the one from Joe Paterno that's a two foot putt in my opinion. Whenever they talk the Penn State scandal, Darkside, they always air that soundbite.

But was it 2012 or late late 2011? He died in January. Time is of the essence here!

I don't think it was from this year though, was it?

Hmmm...While the Penn State scandal first made news just over a year ago, Joe Paterno didn't die until very early in 2012. I think that interview aired prior to his death.

No shit shark. It sure didn't happen after his death.

QoTY also tends to be a non sequitur, whereas this is just normal Hawk stuff. I bet it makes it into the top three, though.

'Out of spite' is just fine with me.

IIRC B&B lifted it from an attempted interview by someone out of NY. Pretty sure the statement took place before the scandal broke. Not sure how the fellers will treat this as it was clearly a big hit in the 2012 quotes, but didn't happen in 2012.

I think it was the interview he did with Sally Jenkins when he was on the verge of death, hence the exceedingly raspy "ya gonna hafta speak up!" Not sure how I feel about QOTY going to a guy whose body was shutting down.

We'll see. I wonder if Doug Gottlieb and/or John Feinstein for their "CBS Sports Minutes" also make the cut...

Yeah, I thought they played that well before the scandal. I think dan did his imitation before that too. They always considered Paterno a walking rectum..

Oh! Yes, of course!

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I'm John Feinstein." Third place.

Maybe some love for Gerry DiNardo's "what, who's yelling, what, what's going on"

Well obviously it wasn't THAT bad but it was still pretty bad. It was almost a Fred Huebner bit. So think about that, Dan.

That drop where Mike from Milwaukee is giggling and burping is a shoe-in.

"Sack Machine" has definitely gotten its share of air time. I'd agree that it gets in.

I don't know if "I'm Connor McDoink" has the chops to be amongst the finalists. Let's not forget about one of the notable snubs from last year: "Jay Podium at the Cutler" - Connor

Don't think it'll be a nominee for QOTY but J Leman will win a specialy category "Home schooled Christian Weirdo" award or something.
