Hmmm...While the Penn State scandal first made news just over a year ago, Joe Paterno didn't die until very early in 2012. I think that interview aired prior to his death.

IIRC B&B lifted it from an attempted interview by someone out of NY. Pretty sure the statement took place before the scandal broke. Not sure how the fellers will treat this as it was clearly a big hit in the 2012 quotes, but didn't happen in 2012.

I think it was the interview he did with Sally Jenkins when he was on the verge of death, hence the exceedingly raspy "ya gonna hafta speak up!" Not sure how I feel about QOTY going to a guy whose body was shutting down.
