I know. Matt called him out on the half foot...Dan said he was afraid he was shrinking, throwing down cover for when he is officially found to be lying.

Mac is 5'6-5'7 tops.

Bernstein will probably start wearing lifts.

Its seriously a shame he's so self conscious about it to the point of lying.

Mac is a tad shorter (I took an architecture class in 1994 with Tad Shorter) than me and I'm 5-8. Berns IIRC is my height.

It's weird how much he thinks of his height. He should probably be more concerned that people think he is a dick. No shame in being short. If he got picked on for it it's because he was a dick not because of his height.

Having listened to Dan since his arrival at the station I don't recall him ever making an issue out of his physical stature (height) or his athletic prowess (hitting a 95 MPH fastball, dunking a tennis ball, etc.) like this. He would occasionally mention that he played club baseball at Duke but didn't claim to be especially good. I don't know if he's dong this to mock somebody else who does do these things (Leary) or if he's just feeling his age and feels the need to exaggerate.

Duke doesn't have a club baseball team. They are a full on member of the ACC with scholarships and full time staff. Maybe they had competitive baseball intramurals like ND has for football, but even ND guys wouldn't have the balls to hint they played football at ND.

The shame part of it is he will most likely pass the ridiculous self consciousness on to his son.
