So it's not a revolt, it's "behaving badly"?

The Score is a multi million dollar operation. Take Mac for example. He's an investment to Mitch and Zim. He's a 300k a year investment. You get some 40k a year producer attacking him, that's not good for business.

You guys look at it as fun and games, but the Score is a business. You can't forget that.

I don't think it's as malevolent as you're making it out to be, though obviously there's a CBS connection. It could be something as simple as "we're starting another sports talk station in Atlanta, who has someone we could use?" "We do!" "Send him over!"

Sometimes things can't be a coincidence.

1. Goff's "Da Ma Na" campaign becomes more intense and mean.

2. Mac goes to Mitch and they both agree that Goff will be banished from subbing on the "Mac and Spiegel Show".

3. Goff's deal with an Atlanta CBS radio station happens in a blink of an eye shortly after these events.

Could it be a coincidence? Sure. Is it likely? No.

B&B often describe this Zimmerman as being a cut throat boss. Big Fan has reported that he's that way when contracts are up.

Don't you guys think Zim and Mitch discuss stuff? I mean they have to do something to fill out their 8 hour days. It's not always martini lunches with sponsors. You don't think Goff's war with Mac has come up in discussion? Or Goff's take over of the B&B show bullshit and nonsense? Or his race baiting and attacks on white people? C'mon. Of course it's discussed.

What if, after the whole Mac thing went sour, Goff...

Possible. But Goff doing that would be an indication that he came to the conclusion that his bosses have soured on him. It would be him realizing that the "Da Ma Na" thing sunk him at the Score. My theory is just a plausible as yours. Mine is more entertaining, though.

I still think he would have had to have Mitch and/or Zim endorsing him even if he applied on his own. I think to get a job where the boss doesn't know you, you would need somebody going to bat for you. Especially when you're getting your first "Full Time" radio show. I don't think Goff's demo tapes would have gotten him the job.

Oh, I'm sure Mitch went to bat for him. They knew he wasn't going to be an associate producer forever; helping him out was the right thing to do.

Bernstein's tremendous influence at the Score has been discussed here. The "Bernstein Culture". Mitch and Zim realize it. Maybe they got sick of it. Maybe they want to rid the station of Bernstein's soldiers.

If that was the case, LoHo would never have a show on his own/sub for anyone.

Are you saying that Goff is not a wartime producer?

Actually, just the opposite. Mitch and Zim realized that Goff wasn't a peacetime producer. Goff was always the type that had this weird, sick desire to start wars.

I still go back to the Mac thing. Mac came on this board singing the praises of Goff one time. Mac allowed Goff to sub on his show. Hell, Goff's guy Bernstein didn't even let Goff sub on his show as much as Mac did. Yet Goff had to attack Mac. He just has that need for conflict and confrontation. Always need to swing his dick around. He'll take that to Atlanta. Give him time. He'll eventually start attacking co workers there.

Anybody have any names in the office down at the new station in ATL? Maybe there's somebody down there that knew Goff from here and came after him? Somebody fire up the SHARK signal.....

And if you re-listen to Bernstien on Goff's LastDayvaganza, he went into a little rant on how it is important to not owe anyone and not having to look up to anyone for favors, etc.

At first I had thought that he was taking another beatadeadhorse shot at the North "diaper money" legacy, but I now see that he was directly talking about the Goff-Mac situation postmortem - kind of doing some inappropriate "I Told you so!" shit to Goff to puge his own feelings of self-gult for not helping out a fledgeling (DAN IS SELFISH!!!).

. .. we gave Dan a lot of shit back then for MAC stepping up and having to give DAN's guy airtime, and now Bernstein was doing some grandstanding bird-flippin'!

I thought it was a shot at North because had Mike kept his ego in check, McNeil & Boers would still be partners and Bernstein wouldn't be in his current role. Which is how some North-type might have put it to Dan a few years ago after maybe one too many adult beverages or one too many condescending comments by Bernstein.

Come to think of it, when Goff's war with Mac escalated, he wasn't getting many air shifts anymore. The weekends and late nights were going to Randazzo, Finfer, Conner and Joe O. Maybe that was Mitch's punishment for Goff.

He also went on vacation for like two weeks...which makes me think Goff used his vacation time so he didn't lose it.

I can't help but feel partially responsible for this. That leaked info seems to have started a shit storm. Should have let the discussions stay behind the scenes...

Like we wouldn't be gossiping about Goff's departure. You just gave a bit of a basis for said gossip.

So maybe it was my initial theory where Mitch and Zim made Atlanta happen and Goff didn't know it was actually a push out. Or maybe Mitch told Goff to start looking else where after the McNeil thing. Or maybe Goff knew he needed to start looking else where after the McNeil thing cuz he felt that it sunk him at the Score.

One day Mac will tell us the true Hollywood story.
