Thanks, Beni. Is it clear that Boers' head is on the body of Baby Jesus? It doesn't look very defined...maybe I need to find a new one.

Just pretend he's Max Headroom.

Speaking of Max Headroom, you remember what happened 25 years ago?

Sorry kiddo, I went away for awhile .... I'm going to guess it's the channel 9 & 11 pirate signal fiasco .... good times ....I didn't see either one live, but I do seem to remember some hub-bub about someone doing something so heinous as to send a pirate signal over the public airwaves ....

Or it could be something entirely different and I typed that crap for no reason, instead of almost no reason. :D

I can tell pretty easily. I guess you might be able to find a bigger Baby Jesus and have a better look, but I think that works well.

I apologai if it's in the same account as I'm not clicking the link as I just happened to watch it last week, anyway I also found myself watching a few minutes of what I think was an hour-long program on Channel 2 in the immediacy after the blizzard of 79 and they had some higher-ups on the panel with Jacobsen and someone else or two ......... anyway, the whole point was it was literally just short of amazing that they were having a discussion of how to deal with the excessive snow, wind, power outages (etc) and there was ZERO hyperbole, ZERO trying to hype anything, just adult discussion for the sake of information dissemination (and conjunction junction perhaps) without trying to make a huge fucking to-do like we're all going to die and it's the first time it's ever snowed in the history of the world like we see nowadays, even when it turns out nothing at all happens. This has now slipped into a CGS post and I'm sickened by it so I'm stopping now to go crawl into the oven.

Well, how bad has it been? I've just been listening since 4:30. To my surprise, not much about the murder-suicide.

This was only the second mention in the entire show. People were predicting that they'd spend a majority of the 5 hours on this topic. They haven't.

There's really not much to talk about, any discussion would sound forced. I remember when the Virgnia Tech shooting happened Mac was asked why his show wasn't talking about it and he said good radio usually consists of two arguable, contrasting view points, and without a contrasting viewpoint it would make for very uninteresting radio. That seems applicable here also.

Yeah, once you get past the "Man that's fucked up" aspect of it, there's not really much to say.

You're not actually expecting people to accept plain facts, are you? For shame ....

Solid, if unspectacular, show today. The only phony baloney was the Fannie May reads. "The juice was literally running down my chin." I don't ever want to hear shit like that.

Dan was wondering why KC would keep Belcher's jersey hanging in his locker, saying "other employers wouldn't do that. Could you imagine an insurance company doing that?".

Isn't this the same Dan Bernstein who berates callers for comparing their jobs to those of professional athletes? "You can't compare the two!!! What may happen in your job has nothing to do with the job of a professional athlete!"

Who ya' crappin'.

interesting comparison bernstein made between sports locker rooms (especially NFL) and other places of business where someone has turnedmurderer. he said "you don't see offices wearing tee shirts of the guy that just killed someone saying rest in peace or anything"...something to that effect.

i think it's pretty obvious why, if you understand that a locker room is vastly different from an office (in so many ways). still, it was kind of amusing to me...just because imagining office workers wearing shirts of someone made me laugh. biz-cas-fri.

Isn't the "they" now all CBS? Back in the day when ESPN carried the first weekend of the big dance (a two day period of annual "sick days" for me) they might have had an interest, but now its all CBS and the only person not liking a Cinderella is the DB himself.

That explains the countless hours talking the JSSMSS aka PSU.

Hilarious that his first point in transition is exactly what Bernstein said about how college basketball celebrates the underdog teams.

His over the top laughter is pretty over the top. Nothing said on that show should make you laugh for as long as he does, and this happens within seconds of almost every transition on that show.
