They're all starting to sound the same. A lot of the same lines.

You'll never convince drinky they suck. Especially living in his B&B world where eveybody tells him theat they are awesome. I think getting approval from his radio Dads means a lot to drinky. He likes impressing them. They're just beig nice to him cuz he's one of theirs, but he doesn't know that.

I don't have anything against Drinky. I think he's funny most of the time. But those mock Sports Minutes should've been a one and done.

I like Matty & I enjoy the fact that he is making fun of Gottlieb & Feinstein. Look at it this way...maybe Mitch will allow these to continue too long & the CBS Sports execs will notice & make a change in Management at WSCR. We can hope, right?

Those are pretty awful. It may have been funny once or twice to read like you're a 10 year old and mis-pronounce names/phrases, but it stopped being funny and now is just dumb.

The thing is, do they even listen?

Advice to drinky: Write four of them, use the best one. If it's really good, then do a bonus one later on in the show.

Also, don't concentrate on random misstating of things that don't happen in them. For instance, I think one of them he kept on saying "N F and L". That's not a parody because the actual sports minutes fail because of content, not because John Feinstein doesn't know what the NFL stands for.

You should be able to satire the content, with dumb and obvious thoughts without relying on sounding like your sports minute was converted to Russian and then converted back to English.

Honestly I thought the Urlacher one was hilarious.

And I still get a kick out of the fact that they're openly mocking their owners.

The "real" ones aren't ridiculous because they're being read by people who can't really read, but for the cock-sure attitude that they embody, and the content itself.

Matty's might not be so bad if he'd read them as if it's the best fucking piece of copy that has ever been written.

He does that for every abbreviation, like "PG&A" or "NBofA." I guess it's making fun of people who say "US of A," but I've never heard anything like this on the CBS minutes.

As for the cadence, Gottlieb will take weirdly placed pauses from time to time, but then catch up. He-ne-ver-just-reads-cah-pee-like-he-is-a-third-gray-der-who-is-in-the-L-D-re-source-room. So I don't get that, either. Killer V has it right: the real humor is in the fact that they put confidence and gravitas into theses like "the L.A. Dodgers are a lot like popular reality show Dancing with the Stars" or whatever the fuck they say.

Someone with comedic timing and talent would be able to do that Rick, not some second rate radio producer on a sports talker. Locally, if you're looking for someone who understood that concept, Bruce Wolf's often brilliant Chet Chitchat reports on Steve and Garry's show back in the day were it. Thats what good satire and parody sounded like. Not the dumbass shit that drinky is attempting.

Like any one-trick comedic pony the question becomes how much of it is really an act? What was once novel now seems to be his true norm, his blogs read like his sports minutes and his voiceovers tend to have the same cadence.

I still really like drinky on the radio, but ironically he could use a producer for these sports minutes.
