There has been a lot of amazingly stupid and insensitive things posted on this board in the last 24 hours.
This is one of them.

Dan will be having on a PR guy from Universal Studios later next week to discuss the pressing need to edit out large swaths of Happy Gilmore. It's too soon and it sets the wrong tone. I don't have kids but I am definitely going to set up a meeting with the neighbors to get together and discuss why the celebrations of Shooter McGavin are wrong and hurtful. Expect a firestorm on Twitter.

It's a case again of "you dont have kids, so you dont know"

I do know that almost everyone I know chose not to bring it up to their kids, but Danny B is having a family meeting??????

Not saying to ignore it if they ask a question, but I would never bring it up to my kids if they didnt first.

no shit. why would you? the less traumatic events in their childhood the better. they have their teens and their entire adult life to be stressed out. let them have the first 10 years in peace.

Especially if they're real young. Like 7 or younger. Why stage a big meeting? Cuz it happened? If they don't ask or know, you don't need to put fear in their minds.

Your kids are way more likely to be in a car accident than have this happen at their school. Do you have a meeting with your kids explaining to them that their could be a car accident and tell them what to do? Do you put that fear in them for every time they get in a car? Of course not.

I am proud of Chi Chi Rodriguez for finally understanding the dangers of saber dueling in stopping his celebration after sinking a putt.

It's more of an homage to Yosemite Sam.
