Who says "speaking truth to power"?

Full disclosure: I was on the east coast for the holidays and haven't listened to the Score in a good two weeks.

Not an avid listener the past couple weeks, but that phrase is awful. Sounds like something a hackey preacher might try to make his catch-phrase.

I've seen it all over in the sports world and just in general. I think Wilbon used it when talking about his criticism of the BCS

It has popped up in the last month or so with Bernstien. It was used several times in my hour of listening to he and Mcnight on Monday. It is the 2013 phrase because I expect it to be Dan's go to term of empowerment this year, much like he has pounded other industry speak words like "three technique".

Dan Bernstein is the opposite of speaking truth to power.

It's hard to speak truth to power with Reinsdorf's cock in your mouth.

And Theo Epstein, and Emery/McCaskeys, the Obama administration, etc., etc. I believe I once characterized the White Sox attendance rant as speaking lies to the powerless.

Beat me to it. I don't know of another media member, sports or otherwise, who so regularly and effusively praises billionaires not for their ambition or achievement or centrality to job creation but simply for existing.
