All morning, they've been touting their plan for improving the Bears.........trade Jay Cutler. Yep, trade him and get a couple of draft picks. Then the Bears can re-build and be all set.

I cant lie.

Its crossed my mind. But what would you get for him really?

What if they were offered the #1 overall pick for Cutler and the Bears first and second rounder?

Try your Luck? (JimGray)

Maybe they should work on hiring a guy who can actually draft. They should never trade Jay. Trade Briggs and some other guys and collect mid round picks. You don't need to pick up additional 1st round picks you just need lots of mid round picks. Good teams are built through good mid round drafting.

Middle rounds matter but hitting on first rounders matters more.

Your packers have gotten great starters from the middle rounds.

But they've also gotten an MVP and a Defensive POY with top 10 picks.

Anyway, Im just trying to gauge how people view Luck vs Cutler going forward.

I can't see Cutler's value being a first overall pick (even with a mid-first round pick thrown in). With the new wage scale, Luck would be worth the comparatively cheap gamble.

I think most teams would do that unless they had one of the established names or Cam Newton. No question if I've got Cutler, Eli, or Flacco.

I edited in a second rounder but it doesnt even matter, its a flawed premise.

The Only way a team would pass on Luck would be if they had an established QB and in that case what do they want with Cutler?

The thing is, Cutler isnt young anymore. This is his prime.

Fuck

Solid show programming today. Instead of talking about the breaking news of Theo Epstein joining the Cub, we are treated to Michael Lombardi talking NFL and Robin Ventura getting softballs tossed at him.
