The year I had the honor and privelige of going to The Score Christmas Party back in '97 was one of the best parties I've ever been to. It was at Ditka's and they had an excellent spread.
They had karaoke and the DJ ended up being a guy name Eric that I went to grade school with.
I remember a much younger LoHo being at the table with me and Swieca and a few others. Excellent food, drink and peeps....and the beautiful latino receptionists were flirting with me. All in all, a great time and wonderful memory.
So when is Drinky gonna post something here about the party? Jason maybe?
The Score parties were legendary back when the station was owned by individuals and not a corporation.
I think Mully and Hanley would be pretty nice guys to hang with. I know countless Chicago Catholic League followed by Marquette guys. They kind of fit the pattern. They are all pretty good guys although almost universally overstate their partying.
Mac, on the two or so times have spoken with him is as unpretentious and genuine as I could hope. The guy is generous to a fault. His emotions sometimes get him into trouble but they also open him up to realtionships few at the station would allow. Guys like Boers always warned him about engaging listeners but he chose to not heed the advice. I think he would tell you his life is richer for it. Conversely, Boers seems to be closed off to the world.
Even as the original Spiegal fan, I cannot get a read on him.
I have never liked Boers on the radio and I don't think I'd even get the chance to know him outside of it.
Bernstein on the other hand is probably a likeable guy if you can get him to let his defenses down.
I imagine drinky and Goff to be great guys.
Sir would be fun to have around in a group dynamic. He's the guy it's fun to laugh at while you also pull for hi to succeed.
