I bet it's a purely financial decision. He makes a big salary, but listen to the ads. It's for getting older products. Reverse mortgages, hearing aids, and low T. They should have celebrated him though, and just been up front about it.

If you look at the Score, it is starting to look like a failed station Decastro ran. Just saying.

Nah, I'm thinking Goff goes out more to the theme of the Jeffersons, thinking he'll do better.

I know you know it's bullshit, but just for fun, let's hit the Wayback and find some old 87.7 ratings:

June 2018: 3.3
May 2018: 3.5
April 2018: 3.5
March 2018: 3.5

https://web.archive.org/web/20141103142 ... exe/arb005
October 2014: 0.5
September 2014: 0.4
August 2014: 0.4
July 2014: 0.3

But John Kirk said The Game would be ratings success on any other frequency.

Hanley and Eddie O are buddies, they both own a stake in a race horse or two. Don't be surprised to see Hanley pop up at 1000 in a contributor role (maybe one day a week) as a hedge against 670 trying to lure Kap when his contract runs out.

After David Haugh fails at the Score, maybe they can replace him with Seals & Crofts songs and and watch their ratings improve by a factor of ten.

When Jimmy deCastro was at WGN, he sent Garry Meier's number one rated afternoon drive show to the stream only.

If the rumor was true, it was because Meier refused to attend the Radio Hall of Fame Ceremony with his ex-partner, Steve Dahl. Word was that deCastro was not happy and thought it made him and WGN look bad and unprofessional - again, rumors.

Then, Meier's show on the stream becomes more popular than the AM 720 live afternoon drive show so he cans Meier outright. I believe Meier received a full year of WGN paychecks for doing nothing.

I'll miss Hanley. He was a class act on the most stable and consistent show The Score ever had.

Hey, Jimmy - "younger" listeners are streaming music and podcasts. Us 50+ guys like listening to quality sports yappers like Hanley.

It had more to do with Roe Conn coming in and his incompatibility with Garry.

Is there anyone alive who would prefer Mulligan and Haugh to Seals and Croft?

Heard it live. That was a tough listen. I hope another media outlet snatches Brian up and treats him the way he deserves. I think you got this one wrong, Jimmy d.

Oh, I see a Father of the Year in Hanley's near future.

It was compelling radio for the morning commute. Not pleasantly compelling to be sure though.

I agree completely Hanley got it up the moon for, I believe, no intelligent reason(s). How Haugh is going to drive ratings up appreciably (past any temporary bump bringing in the curious listeners) is well beyond me.

I wonder if Hanely would like an op-ed section for himself on the bored. Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to find out.

Yikes that was uncomfortable... I feel bad. I've always said that Hanley was the only tolerable thing about M&H. Mully is horrendous and always has been.

How about the total social media silence on this from current SCR employees?! Goff, Spiegel, kc johnson, etc eulogized the departure, but not a word from Danny b, or the other 6 Dans. What bitches. They work with the man for literally decades (in some cases) and don’t give him a shout out or even a mention of the occurrence. Decastro has them all super scared they’ll get fired the next time they take a day off I guess, and be replaced by the guy that told Finfer he was fired.

Considering what an Anglophile he is, I'm sure Mully would enjoy that.
