Is "shooting eggshells" an expression? I tuned in about 6:40 this morning and they were talking to a baseball writer from St. Louis about Kris Bryant's comment. Mully said "Was he just shooting eggshells at the Cardinals?

I have heard the expression "walking on eggshells," of course, but have never heard someone say "shooting eggshells."

My guess is he mixed up walking on eggshells and throwing stones. Not a big deal.
