Yeah who was that? Definitely not a voice for radio. I wanted to look her up when I got to work but I forgot what her name was.

Alyssa Bergamini. I found her less annoying than Leila.

So far I have been okay with Leila. It's just one thing but she made a great self deprecating joke that was well timed recently. Dan mentioned something about people walking into rooms and saying random things on hot mics and she said that sounds like her job. Other times I see what ppl are saying here about them not connecting. They are different generations but the same thing applied to Boers too. I don't know. Don't listen all that much anyway so probably don't have the best perspective.

Thayer is subbing for Haugh today. Even with Thayer's butchering of the English language and intermittent difficulties formulating a coherent thought, this has been a much more enjoyable listen than the typical Mully-Haugh show. Thayer is far more engaged, more substantive, and more entertaining than the hapless and hopeless Haugh.

I thought I heard Haugh on Hit and Run with Levine yesterday when I had to run to the store.

He's been co-hosting with Bruce for the past year or so.

It was interesting to hear him and Haugh debate whether a Ricketts purchase of Chelsea would be good or bad for the Cubs. Haugh pointed to the "biblical losses," the lack of spending over the last couple of years, the lowball offer to Contreras, etc. and even mentioned the theory that Reinsdorf at times has commingled finances for his two teams, sometimes to one or the other's detriment.

Mully, on the other hand, referred to the fact Ricketts is up about $3 billion on his Cubs investment, and speculated that getting a similarly good discount/deal on Chelsea could open up funds for the Cubs in the long run.

Ricketts has put out a hefty payroll, probably a top 5 the last 6 years..itvwas just spent poorly, Getward veing the biggest pos on the roster.

that is just paper profit until they are sold

currently, the Ricketts are leveraged balls deep in real estate they purchased at the top of a micro market, a hotel that hasn't seen a guest in two years, and a stadium renovation that came in way over budget

The Cubs have some money, the Ricketts' kids individually have some money but the whole house of cards is built upon the full faith and credit of Joe Ricketts in Nebraska

Pretty interesting with Dan Pompeii talking about Steve McMichael. Tom Thayer talked about the Bears glory days weight room. Then it carried over to a very good transition with Mully, Thayer, Rongey & Leila. Much better without Haugh & Bernstein's pc, obliigatory, I'm offended bs.

Steve Stone on with M & H. It's a totally different interview atmosphere with the Sox broadcaster than when they talk to Cubs shills. No Sox leadership, culture, tone, clubhouse guys lead-in questions. Actually asked about the Giolito injury tie-in to the added muscle weight gain, Eloy's bumping into Roberts, Vince Velasquez why (career 4.95 era)?
Mully was very open in the past about his disdain for Kimbrel. But, M & H actually praise Cubs for lack of productivity when interviewing Levine.

Mully upset we don't have "clarity" on how the Bears feel about the offensive line.

There is no doubt the tone is entirely different when speaking about the two teams.

During his Ozzie Guillen interview Mulli was all upset that OG deserves respect from Tim Anderson due to his illustrious past in MLB. OG was a good fielding SS. Horrible on pop-ups, base running, bunting, weak arm that barely could make it to 1st, weak hitter (264 .287 .338 .626 69).

His out of control imbecile kids repeatedly badmouthed his boss Kenny Williams to the media.

Then, OG was stupid enough to praise Cuban dictator Fidel Castro when a Miami (54% Cuban) manager. “I love Fidel Castro. I respect Fidel Castro." (estimated 141,000 Cubans murdered during FC regime).

Now giving White Sox pre & post tv analysis still can't speak understandable English after all these years.

I have no idea why Mitch chose to replace Handley with Haugh, It was an unnecessary move that hasn't had an affect on the ratings. Handley was bland and corny but Haugh is atrocious at the job.

Male ego.

He discovered Haugh.

Hanley gets replaced because of it.

Haugh is no great shakes, but he's a damn sight better than Hanley. At least Haugh can articulate a thought and put a sentence together. Mulli and Hanley together were absolutely brutal.
