He's 1/2 of the worst show in the city. I rather listen to the Saloon.

He never provides any valuable insight, his 'unique' ideas are unique because no one is stupid enough to really think that on the radio and he's painfully not funny.

Other than that, no problems with him.

He (and his show) is extrodinarily boring and lacks entertainment. He equates yelling with excitement which just makes the show sound ridiculous. The little bothersome sayings (arse, giddy aunt, etc.) don't help and only add to the annoyance factor. He is the second worst host on the Score. Second to only Brian Hanley. This is a fact, not an opinion.

i would rather have 10 or so differnt people (choose between score or espn) host this show, there is no comedy at all or real insight.

I find that the show is too quick to get worried about the recent results of our baseball teams. By the 2nd game of the season, they invariably say, "well I know it's early, but shouldn't we be worried about xyz...". I don't hate Mully, he is ok, but teamed with Hanley, the show really sucks. There is an awkward flow to the show, in part due to weak guests like Ken Rosenthal (sp?). I don't care for his change in voice tones either. He is equivalent to Speigs for me, where he is neutral overall.

Please describe his insights. Given the fact that he is Bears columnist for the Sun-Times, Mulligan seems shockingly devoid of sources and information. That's why the show features Biggs during the season. Mulligan seems to get most of his football information from him.

I have no doubt that bigfan is correct. Mully has been a newspaper guy for a long time and has covered a variety of beats. I'm sure he has great sources and some insights to the local teams. Or at least he likely once did. Regardless, that doesn't necessarily make for interesting radio. I'd much prefer listening to the idiotic but ridiculously hilarious Mike North or the hateful dan bernstein. It's like the Dave Baum philosophy that li'l danny has made his own: if half the audience loves you and the other half hates you, you're going to be just fine. Mully isn't worth loving or hating. He's just meh. And that British crap does get annoying. That Brother Rice bastard can kiss my arse.
