Mulligan just tried to spend a good 3-4 minutes talking about the pilgrims, and wouldn't let it go even when ZZ tried multiple times to steer it back to the Bears. He even blessed us with a "We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on us!". I don't even know what to say about this past 5 minutes.

About 6:00 this morning I heard a promo congratulating Mully & Hanley on being the #1 sports show in the city. It didn't say "morning" show, it just said "show." Can that be possible? This show is unlistenable and Mully may be one of the worst talk-show hosts I've ever heard in any format.

As people have noted before, his rambling, "question within a question within a question" questions that he often answers himself must leave guests in a permanent state of confusion. Both he and Hanley constantly interrupt callers and derail any flow:

Mully: Let's go to Mark.
Mark: Hi, guys. You know, the Bears...
Mully: [stupid comment to Hanley about something else]
Mark: What?
Mully: Nothing, go ahead caller...
Mully or Hanley: [another stupid comment muttered under their breath]
Mark: ????
Hanley: Sorry, go ahead...

For a professional broadcaster, the number of interjections he uses in his speech is shameful. Every other word is "um", he frequently gets lost in his thoughts, and he has a more difficult time clearly expressing a thought that anyone on the station this side of Terry Boers. It's as if he has no professional broadcast training, let alone normal conversational skills, whatsoever.

I don't know if this annoys anyone else, but they are constantly laughing at things that are not, and were not meant to be, funny.

Mully: We're joined by [insert name here]. How are you this morning?
Guest: I'm OK, just having a cup of coffee.
Mully: AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!
Hanley: HAHAHAHAA!!!!
Blah
Blah

Blah
Mully: Keep in touch, Leon.

I'll sometimes listen for a few minutes when I'm making my lunch or in the car on the way to work and am stunned at how bad it is, amazed that anyone can listen for more than 5 or 10 minutes at a time, and then I hear a spot congratulating them on being the #1 sports show in Chicago. How can that...be?

I think instead of North Rules people should start ending their posts with this....Here I will do it now.

That's pretty rough. M&M hasn't been much better. They open from every commercial break by saying they aren't gonna talk about elections because they are dumb and can't even get sports down, or something. It's supposed to be self-deprecating humor but they just sound stupid, and have attempted some iteration of the joke about 6-7 times already in the past hour.
