I'm still not sure what i just heard.... i couldnt tell if it was a bit... but im thinking it was them being serious... around 7:30am they were talking about ditka's comments and then led in to redskins name debate itself... mulli said he was going to try and not using the name... hanley agreed..... but in telling us their position of not using redskins.... they said the word redskins literally 20 times during the segment... only mike mulligan would be able to pull a feat like that off

Mully is a douchebag but how are those examples offensive to their groups in the same way Redskin is?

"Fighting Irish" has become increasingly rare in common parlance, though still the official nickname. It's much more often just "Irish," as in "here come the Irish."

It's an evolutionary thing, just like the removal of the pipe from the mouth of the fighting leprechaun drawing/symbol.

Everyone is so hasty to compare the Redskins to the Fighting Irish and say that it's the same thing. It's not. The Irish can actually hold their liquor.

The last time I was on the campus, I was doing some eavesdropping just out of curiosity to see what the students were talking about -- you guessed it, hooch, drinking. Liquor sales are a big part of the South Bend economy.

Back when I started there, it was common practice in winter to hang cans of beer out the windows in nets, to save room in the fridges.

Anyway, they were once the Ramblers (like Loyola/Chicago).
