Interesting, haven't listened to the Score in a long time. So Mully n Hanley to 9-1 Meatpants and Goff - fired? Mitch don't have the brains or balls to fire anybody. Kaplan ? Why would he want to wake up @4 am to work morning show. |

purps and goff were giddy per usual so don't think they are fired. look for a big name coming in to partner with speigs. goff with bernstine i guess. |

As usual, I was way ahead of this story. Goff being violently incompetent, unprepared and bad at his job is because he has something waiting for him. Meat doesn't care because he doesn't care. I spent a good two hour+ with each show today. M&H was BY FAR the most annoying. hanley doesn't say a fucking word, he just sits there while mully dominates with his idiocy |

Morning drive is the only daypart where the Score isn't going down the tubes. Why would they cancel Mully and Hanley unless to move them to afternoons? |

If I understand it correctly, when Feder gives the ratings for mornings and has M&H in 6th, that's actually three hours of M&H and one hour of Slappy and the Purp. 5-6 is still considered overnights, and it wouldn't be fair to mess around with different morning shows running at slightly different times. You have to believe that 9 a.m. hour is dragging down the daypart. |

Most of these shows have become background noise. The level of entertainment value is quite limited. |

They run like 10 straight minutes of ads from 8:50 to 9:00. Great way to lead into a new show. |

Seems like the proper way to do a transition would be to come out of a break at :52 or :53 and go up to the top of the hour. |

Curious Hair wrote: You have to believe that 9 a.m. hour is dragging down the daypart. hear hear. when there's a growing sentiment on the board that FOTY kaplan is a "good solid listen" because of the distinct lack of slap-n-giggle-sessions/IMPORTANT-CALLS-FOR-JUSTICE-SOCIAL-OR-OTHERWISE you know that something is pretty fucked up. seriously, kaplan is not that good. he's just NOT-[something technically worse] and you can NEVER let you confuse yourself with thinking that's good. it's like catching a good strain of hepatitis, you know? btw, for what it's worth my baseball uncle (the ~80+ games/year guy between wrigley/comiskey/miller while only having partial season tickets @ miller) doesnt really do sports talk radio at all, but he always says that mully and hanley is the one show he can do in the mornings when he was driving to work or wherever. he'll say he likes them but he doesnt care for the rest of the guys, especially the preachy one/s. i consider him to be a sports talk radio layman/casual aka a "normie" (as opposed to us dead-in-the-wool "scoreheads" over here) and i figure there's a lot more ppl like him who prefer their sports talk to be devoid of the "personality" or "general interest" or even "justice" of the primetime shows.... c'est la vie, no? |
