Maybe time for JHood to get another shot at the Apple? I have a feeling he would eat Carmen alive, maybe even literally, but it was ironic I actually had this thought driving home listening to him, then he kinda started riding Carmen a little bit basically about being 'too white'. No, he never said "too white" but the implications of Carmen going to the club in a top hat and cane, not being into modern music, kind of painting Carmen as lame?

I had a little Hood v Telander flashback where Hood gives a little shit, but didn't have the off switch and it got ugly quick. with telander. Had a sense it would happen with Carm.

At the same time, Harry and Huebner would be a good show.

It seems that Chicago is blessed with light weight talent in sports talk. Both stations are full of light wieghts, talent wise, certainly not weight wise.

The "celebs" in Chicago radio are really nothing special, just filler. Mac, Bernstein, Hanley, Carm, Silvy are just lightweights. Other towns have some pros, but we sure don't have any.

What towns and who?

Have you actually listened to sports radio in other towns? There is some BRUTAL sports talk out there.

Chicago is actually pretty lucky to have some of the better sports talk around.

Like the Douche in Philly? or the losers in NYC??? Every other town is running the sports version of the morning zoo or their in town version of Mike North circa late 90's.

SID, I agree the city of lacking some balls...and I am not talking about Mac or Boers as they have laid it on the line with a few sports guys in the past. I think Spiegel is the only other guy who would really grill a guy risking his position to say his true feelings about a guy.

Silvy and Carm almost did it with Reinsdorf, but the next day they ran right back into the Kings chambers and bowed down to kiss the ring, just what Jerry wanted "Won't get another bite at the apple" remember that?

If you think Jay Cutler is a D bag, call him out to his face like when Mac went after Erik Kramer, "Who's this?"...or even when North called out Ozzie.

SID, we know you hate everyone you listen to all day and I won't say improvements can't be made, but compared to almost every other city I have heard , they produce FAKE almost LO Homes like manufactured topics every night. What's your favorite Cheese! Light Em up! Type stuff.

And still you can't get any decent air time ......

I liked Carmen and Hood together in the evenings for a while. They never really kept that slot consistent.

I'd just like Hood to have a consistent slot. Chicago's Baseball Tonight back in the day with Hood and Dickerson was awesome during the summer. He and Huebner would be better paired with somebody else.

Adding Hood would be the only way I would even consider listening to that show again...

Other towns sports talk radio is fucking horrible. Der Schnore is better than 90% of the garbage that passes as sports talk radio in other towns.

Hood on the radio in any capacity is a bad idea.

Hood does have a mean spirited side to his sense of humor. As big fan said, when he remembers to reel it back in he's great. When he doesn't, it can get awkward and uncomfortable fast.

Not a great teammate IMO.

However, seems to be OK with Fred, which is ironic to a point

Hood is awful. I don't care what color he is.

I agree with SID about the pile of lightweights on the radio.

but Hood covering up the head not so much huh Steve?

Thats just stupid. I have long claimed on air and off, that Jason Goff should get the next opportunity as a regular on-air host. I have suggested to Mac that he grab Goff to join Matt and himself on their show. The guy is tops with reguards to Basketball and he's good with most other sports as well. On the other hand,Hood tries using humor to cover up his lack of sports knowledge and expertise....only he's not funny either. He's just bad. Not Baad, just bad.

didn't say I was or wasn't racist. I just addressed the subject of Goff's abilities as an on-air personality (very good) vs Hoods (awful) . I would say Willie Mays was one of the very best Baseball players (if not the best) of all time too. It doesn't mean I would invite him over for dinner. Recognizing talent is the issue.
