The folks in Bristol, CT actually did that right after the horrific shootings in nearby Newtown, some 30 miles away from their U.S. headquarters.

Frank, right after the Newtown, CT shootings, ESPN management didn't want "SportsCenter" & ESPNEWS anchors making reference to anything gun related the weekend right after the tragedy not far from their corporate offices & studios.

In a non-related story, ESPN bosses seem to want their staffers to credit their own and not necessarily credit outside sources when it comes to breaking sports news.

From what I heard, ESPN didn't want their anchors making reference to that, along with other gun-related references when describing highlights, not just in football, but in basketball right after the Newtown, CT shootings.

I thought it was nothing more than sports lingo myself, but ESPN thought it was more than that.

Well, they're nipped @ 5:30P to accommodate Steve Kashul's pregame for Bulls/Raptors in Toronto, followed by Chuck Swirsky & Bill Wennington's ESPN Radio/Bulls Radio Network call. They're supposed to go to "SportsCenter Tonight" in Bristol, CT after Kashul's postgame wraps. Will the folks there be all over this Te'o scam after the Bulls' game?
