So, with no East or West Coast teams in the world Series (although the 3rd and 4th largest TV markets are represented), now do you think the National Sports Media will be treating the Series this year?

Let's see what the new Sports Illustrated has on its cover. (Where are they based?) www.sportsdignity.com

I was in California last week during the Sox-Angels series and the people there were complaining on the talk shows about the east coast bias on the network coverage that was so pro white sox. Many callers there complained that the coverage was very unbalanced in favor of the white sox....and that was typical "east coast bias". Rather than arguing that some Californians need a geography lesson, perhaps it's simply evidence of this axiom of American sports media criticism: Whichever team is closer to the east coast is the beneficiary of East coast bias.

I almost envy your patience for tolerating The Mighty 1090, KSPN, and XTRA morons for more that 5 minutes. After 10 minute serving of their crap I develop cravings for Pappy's real estate game and Fred's movie reviews which is very very unhealthy. Although, I have to say, Mancow on XTRA in the mornings does make me feel home despite the fact that I hardly ever listen to his show when I'm home. Bumped into some book signing he did over at Cosco on Clybourn, comes accross as a completely normal dude.

I was in the bay area, not LA Weren't Angels fans necessarily, just sports fans. Mostly KNBR in SF with some KDWN from Vegas thrown in. KNBR has a few hosts who are pretty knowledgeable baseball guys and have decent discussions.

On the road I usually look for Dan Patrick, who I consider to be the McDonalds of sports talk radio. Crap but consistent and available everywhere.
