I knew Edmonds still had something in the tank. He's going to be invaluable with Soriano out.

Well, invaluable might be too strong of a word. But valuable for certain.

The Bullpen has done a great job so far today. Eyre, Marmol and Cotts all have done an outstanding job today and gave the team a chance to tie it up. Edmonds made a hell of a contribution also. I had hoped Soto's shot might carry, but Edmonds picked him up nicely there. With Wood now finishing off the Braves in the 9th, it sure would be sweet if we can win it for him in the bottom of the 10th. That would make it 4 in a row on this latest win streak and 11 in a row at home. How sweep it would be. :D

My Dear Friend Elmhurts Sleeve,
Wood finished the Braves off in the 10th. You, sir, are a complete shit for brains.
Your Love,
Evil J.A.C.K.

Evil Jack-First off you are Nobody I ever heard of before, much less a Dear friend. Secondly thats just minutia. The point was about how well the bullpen has performed in the game, which cannot be disputed. The moiker should now be changed from Evil Jack to JACK OFF! Far more fitting. Oh and Cubs Win, Cubs Win,-4 in a row now and 11 in a row at home!!!!

Very nice wins the last three days. If they can go 3-3 against the J's and the Rays, I will be more than satisfied.
I agree with others who have no idea why Patterson was called up. Makes no sense to me. Just give the playing time to the guys already on the roster. I don't mind him on the bench, but he should have not started today.
I am starting to warm up to Edmonds. He may not make it the whole year but he has contributed lately. That's what baseball magic is all about.

He is evolving into Gagne. That would work for me. Get us to the playoffs. Then, as we've seen ad nauseum, ANYTHING can happen.

Reed Johnson= Rudy Stein

Actually very impressive game. Going against a top pitcher, had some scoring oppurtunities, relief was excellent.

The bases were loaded with NOBODY out. They were going to score there, whether it was by a hit batter, a walk, a sac fly or a hit. Great job to hold the runner at third by Quade to hold Ramirez at third on Soto's hit to left. No sense in sending him with nobody out there.

I am not sure I am following you here? Evolving into Gagne? Who, what, where, when, why, how? :?

Gary Gaetti. I really ought to go to bed. Multi tasking on short sleep doesn't suit me terribly well. Gaetti was cut and we picked him up and he blossomed for that latter half of the season. The Cubs signed him to the next season and he sucked, but we won't get into that. The resurgance part is what I was after (and the Cardinal lineage)
I'm done for the night.

Ah yes Mr. Gaetti.

Thanks, I understand now.
